For some reason, ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl decided to truthfully but ever-so-gently address voter ID with the very deceptive Sen. Mark Warner.
ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl asked Senator Mark Warner, a partisan, why he won’t support voter ID. He asked if this was something that Democrats should get behind. We have some 80 percent of Americans, 70% of Democrats, who say they favor this, Karl said.
Warner answered, “You know what? In Virginia, we have voter ID and photo ID. I got to show my. ..
Karl: “That’s actually not the case. I mean, I’m a Virginia voter. You don’t need to show a photo ID in Virginia. There are wide range of things you can show for ID, and if you don’t show one of those, you can sign an affidavit saying …
Warner: “Those become ballots that if you want to contest later can be contested, but you are, have, you do have a variety of documents. But we have their ID of one form or another.
Karl: “Should that be a national standard? You have to show an ID.
Warner: “Here would be the case if you can show any photo that is government standard, it would be fine. Certain states will say we’re going to let you see, show your NRA gun license, but you can’t show your student ID. If you’re going to have.”
That was Warner’s non-argument.
Warner also said the affidavit ballots can be contested. In reality, you have three days. You’re lucky if you can successfully contest three ballots in three days.
