Lindsay Clancy’s hearing ended without a decision on a retrial. However, her lawyer is now…wait for it…wait…blaming Trump in part for the bad publicity.
Kevin Reddington told a Massachusetts judge that public reaction to Clancy often skips over the question at the center of her defense: whether she was criminally responsible when she killed her three young children.
Describing some of the attacks on his client, Reddington said people call her a “demon” and say she “should be executed.” “This is coming from politicians, from President Trump, all the way down,” he told the court.

Trump did criticize Clancy after the September 4 mistrial. Asked about the case, he told reporters:
“Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can’t be worse. But you’ll find out what the price to pay is. There’ll be a price. It’s going to be a mental institution or jail or something, but I guess they’re going to go through another trial. It’s too bad.”
Trump did not say she should be executed. Nancy Mace separately went off the deep end and called for her execution.
Recently, Reddington asked President Trump for a pardon while on air, but he can’t pardon state crimes. Reddington knew that.
Reddington’s latest defense is that she never confessed. He spent the entire trial saying she did commit the crime, but was not guilty by reason of insanity.
The only person responsible for the bad publicity is Kevin Reddington, who outed the lone juror and called for his investigation. Now Reddington is under investigation for his unethical behavior.
Lost in all this is Lindsay planning and executing the brutal strangling murders of her three small children. Maybe she was psychotic for 18 minutes, but it is doubtful. If women think they need a cause to abide by, there are better ones.
