The rate at which Islam is growing in the United States is alarming because of the totalitarian nature of the political, social, economic, and religious doctrines of Islam. Mosques are appearing everywhere, even in the reddest of red states. They have increased by over 30% since 2010.
Islamic communities that support Sharia law are popping up in numerous states, and most shockingly, in Arkansas under Governor Sanders.
The Historic Growth
The Islamic Center of Little Rock states on its website that its movement began in 1979 with just a couple of dozen Muslim families in the area. They started out by converting an old theater into their first mosque. They also met in homes each Saturday evening to teach their children the Quran and Islamic values.
Soon, their group grew so large that they needed more space, and a local church allowed them to use its Sunday school rooms in the church basement. Then, in 1992, the group purchased a house and converted it into a mosque. Next, they purchased two adjacent houses, tore down all 3 houses, and built their own mosque on the combined properties.
The group says they sent out fundraising letters to a list of Pakistani doctors practicing in the USA, and the money started pouring in. They admit that donations also arrived from the Islamic community in London, England, and from Middle Eastern students.
Now, the Islamic Center of Little Rock has outgrown its mosque and is building a brand-new 35,000-square-foot facility on 10 acres of land, saying it bought the land for $1,320,000 and paid for it in full.
Touting the importance of keeping their Muslim children involved, the group writes, “With an indoor pool, gym, soccer field, basketball, playground and multiple play area, our kids can’t help but to be there during nights and weekends praying the daily prayers and listening to our Islamic lessons.”
Huda Academy’s own strategic plans emphasize building a “strong Islamic identity,” enforcing a Sharia-compliant environment (strict hijab during Quran recitation and prayer), and making long-term investments, so “there is no way we can see a future for Islam in our community in America” without this parallel infrastructure.
They build a strong Islamic community, and then, when they become large enough, they take over.
They train staff through radical ISNA-linked programs and send youth to events tied to the same networks.
Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. has publicly celebrated with them, attended mass Eid prayers at War Memorial Stadium, and supported the expansion. He’s lending political clout until they have enough of their own.
No Assimilation
This began decades ago with families praying in living rooms and borrowed church space. Our naïve “interfaith” kindness is being weaponized.
It has evolved into deliberate institution-building: property transfers to Brotherhood-linked entities, fundraising at their conferences, youth programs pushing separation, and now a taxpayer-subsidized mega-campus.
They openly brag about outgrowing their current site and planning for generations of children “tied to the Quran” in a distinctly Islamic environment – while collecting Arkansas education dollars.
This is strategic civilizational expansion, not organic growth.
Additionally, journalist Christina Aguayo reported that the project is intended to be an Islamic community ruled by Sharia Law.
