Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz recently took a hit after sitting on a three-person panel to pardon an illegal alien who raped a 10-year-old repeatedly over the course of two years. The crime was committed 10 years ago, but for most of us, child rape should have no time limit. The man was here illegally, and he was due to be deported. Tim Walz decided he’d protect him from deportation because, I guess, he thinks we can never have too many child rapists.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio overturned the decision by the panel and deported the rapist.
The case is becoming one of the most politically damaging immigration controversies facing Walz, and he faces many damaging controversies..
Walz and two other Democrats, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Natalie Hudson, pardoned Laotian national Tue Lue Vang. In 2006, he was convicted of repeatedly raping the 10-year-old girl. Vang admitted to the crime, but didn’t think it was a big issue.
Federal officials say Vang was scheduled for deportation when Walz and Minnesota’s Board of Pardons intervened and granted him clemency last month.
That pardon immediately raised alarms inside the Department of Homeland Security, which warned that the move could complicate federal efforts to remove him from the country.
According to Rubio, the Trump administration found another way to get him out of the country.
“Just weeks ago, a foreign child rapist was freed to once again endanger America’s children after receiving a pardon from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz,” Rubio told Fox News Digital.
“Tue Lue Vang admitted to committing heinous crimes against a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota. He attempted to pay his victim for her silence and dismissed his acts of child abuse as a ‘minor thing.’”
Bang sounds like a real gem.
How is it possible that in the USA, we have officials who go to great lengths to keep a child rapist here illegally from being deported? How did we get to this place? We really need better leaders.
