If Democrats win power, they will push for Medicare for All. They tell Americans it will save money, but never explain how the program will accomplish that. They said that about the disastrous Obamacare program also.
President Trump gave a good summary of the reasons Medicare for All won’t work, as Democrats like Abdul El-Sayed insist we must have it.

Why would anyone want the government deciding what healthcare you get, and whether you get it?
Bolshevik Vermont Couldn’t Make Medicare for All Work
Vermont was supposed to be the beacon for a single-payer health care system in America. In 2014, leftist Democrat Gov. Pete Shumlin said they couldn’t afford it, and he had made it the centerpiece of his campaign. He did try to make it work.
The Vermont plan was undone by high taxes, distrust of government, and lack of political support.
“It is not the right time for Vermont to pass a single-payer system, Shumlin acknowledged in a public statement ending his signature initiative. He concluded that the 11.5 percent payroll assessments on businesses and sliding premiums up to 9.5 percent of individuals’ income “might hurt our economy.”
Some of the reasons it won’t work:
Economic analyses revealed that funding the program, named Green Mountain Care, would require massive new public revenues and steep income and payroll tax hikes that risked causing an economic shock.
The state could not legally or practically absorb federal programs like Medicare, Medicaid, or self-insured multi-state employer plans without complex federal waivers that never materialized.
Because federal rules and cross-border options prevented a true single pool of all residents and federal funds, the anticipated savings from reduced administrative paperwork evaporated. Facing the reality of the funding shortfall, then-Governor Peter Shumlin officially pulled the plug on the initiative before it was implemented.
The left can’t accept that it won’t work. They now claim he just didn’t do it right.
But while some polls show majority public support for single-payer, that support declines substantially when faced with trade-offs such as eliminating most private coverage or raising taxes.
Abdul El Sayed insists he will save all kinds of money but never explains how he will do it because he can’t.
