Update: They’re in! However, the White House will appeal,
CNN, MSNow and Politico are still locked out of the White House.
A federal judge temporarily blocked senior Trump administration officials early Thursday morning from barring CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House, but journalists from all three outlets reported they were still denied entry hours later, prompting their attorneys to ask the court for an emergency hearing.
CNN is still reporting on the street. It might just be confusion. President Trump cannot defy a judicial order. District judges run the country. However, a war could be brewing between the Justice Department and the judges.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly granted a request from the three news outlets for temporary relief that reinstates their access to the White House grounds while they challenge President Trump’s move to ban them from the complex because of their coverage of his administration.
The word didn’t get out?
It was unclear when the White House might reinstate access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico. All three outlets were still being denied entry to the grounds as of Thursday morning. Politico reported that one of its reporters was barred from the White House and had his press credential taken away. MS NOW and CNN also said some of their journalists were not allowed in.
Earlier, Judge Timothy Kelly ruled that CNN DNC, MSNowDNC, and DNC Politico must be granted access to the White House because of the Fifth Amendment (Due Process).
The Justice Department is expected to appeal the decision quickly. Mr. Trump said on Truth Social earlier this week that his administration would turn to the appeals court if Kelly ruled in favor of the news outlets.
On Thursday morning, Mr. Trump criticized CNN and MS NOW, and alleged a recent report from MS NOW was “FAKE NEWS.”
“The Dumocrats make up lie after lie,” he wrote on Truth Social. “The new one is that I want Ford’s Theater named after me. That’s where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. Who would want that? I don’t! It is FAKE NEWS started by MSDNC AND CNN.”
The MSM can lie, smear, and operate as an arm of the Democrat Party. It’s apparently their right.
