New Rule Proposal Omits Spouses of H-1B Visa Holders

The Trump administration has proposed a rule to eliminate employment authorization for H-4 visa holders, who are the spouses of H-1B skilled workers. The report comes from Bloomberg Law News.

The planned rule by the Department of Homeland Security seeks to reverse a 2015 rule that allowed qualifying H-4 dependent spouses to work in the United States.

The measure is part of a long-term regulatory agenda (RIN: 1615-AD14). It does not immediately cancel existing H-4 work permits or change current rules while it goes through the formal regulatory and public comment process.

This follows the administration’s proposal to charge employers a separate $103,265 fee for filing new H-1B hires.

The plan also eliminates the 60-day window for H-1B workers to find new employment after a job loss, following approval from a key White House office, signaling its imminent public release. The visa is only for one position, not an excuse to stay and work anywhere.

Good work, Markwayne Mullin, and President Trump. The message is that it won’t be the scam it is now. Of course, if Democrats win, it all goes back to their Hellish vision of what the USA should be. This time it will include hardcore communists.
