The man who shot into a crowd in a deadly 2020 mass shooting in downtown Seattle has been released from prison. He only served a little over three years, according to a notification from Washington VINE. The man and another felon are responsible for the death of a woman and the wounding of seven others.

Willia Tolliver was sentenced June 16, 2023, to four years in prison after pleading guilty earlier that month to amended charges. The new charges were second-degree manslaughter, third-degree assault, and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in a King County courtroom.

The other accused gangland shooter, Marquise Tolbert, had been charged with murder and assault in the case and was found not guilty. He pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm.

The two shooters shot into a crowd. They killed a 50-year-old woman. He wounded seven others, including a 9-year-old boy who had just visited the Pacific Science Center.

Tolliver was originally charged with first-degree murder, six counts of first-degree assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

He was released in March 2023 to electronic home monitoring at his grandmother’s home while he awaited trial. He threatened someone with a gun and was taken back into custody.

At the time of the 2020 shooting, both men already had long criminal histories, with 65 previous arrests and four felony convictions between them.

And having learned nothing, he will do it all again.
