In response to years of declining math and reading skills among America’s youth, New York will no longer require high schoolers to pass statewide Regents exams to graduate starting in 2028.

This is just the latest in NY’s crusade against educational standards instead of doing something about the lousy teachers’ union protecting lousy teachers.

In 2017, NY eliminated a teacher literacy test after Black and Hispanic candidates underperformed whites, and in 2024, it lowered the proficiency threshold for elementary and middle school assessments.

The lousy education in some districts is not a myth.

Some Ivy League stats:

1. Undergraduate enrollment at the 8 Ivy League schools is 61,100.

2. Black enrollment at the Ivies is 7% or 4,277.

3. Average SAT scores at the Ivies is in the 1500s = 98th percentile or higher.

4. Average SAT score for Blacks = 907 or 23rd percentile.

5. Percent of Black students scoring 1400-1600 (94th percentile and above) on the SAT = 1% or 2,289 total Black students. That’s the only point range the College Board reports. If it reported 1500-1600 points, there might be only 1,000 Black students scoring high enough to qualify academically for an Ivy League school.

Conclusion: The only way the Ivies can have 7% Black enrollment is by lowering academic standards for Black applicants. There just isn’t a large enough pool/supply of Black students scoring 1500+ on the SAT to satisfy the Ivies’ demand for Black enrollees.

It’s not only Black children being cheated. Men are, in general. At the University of Michigan, they only want women.
