The Smithsonian’s Heritage Director, Anthea Hartig, was made Director by the Board of Regents in 2018. Under her leadership, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History changed its mission statement to “empowering people to create a more just and compassionate future by exploring, preserving, and sharing the complexity of our past.”
In other words, she’s ditching America First and concentrating on anything bad, especially slavery.
A 162-page report, released on July 4 by the White House Domestic Policy Council, is part of the Trump administration’s ongoing review of the Smithsonian. The museum is overly ideological or “woke.”
The Horror of Wokeness
The report argues that museum leaders have moved the institution away from historical scholarship and toward social justice advocacy, saying the museum now presents American history largely through themes of racism, oppression and inequality.
“This ideological capture has moved the Museum’s mission away from straightforward historical education and scholarship toward an extreme political activism that seeks to transform our country,” the report states.
Little is said of the fact that the Constitution guaranteed freedom for future generations and that they could not have established the nation if they had ended slavery at that time. Hartig’s history doesn’t explain the importance of the Civil War, which left 600,000 dead fighting for the end of slavery. Any time slavery is mentioned, those facts should also be mentioned.
Woke Anthea has turned this esteemed institution, protecting our history, into another far-left Democrat museum.
It’s perverted history.
They have placards of trans women in magazines promoting female masturbation. They hung a masochistic crotch harness in the museum. A non-binary person’s chest binder is also available for viewing. Pages allegedly from a six-year-old girl’s diary claim she prays every night to grow a penis.
They falsely refer to Christopher Columbus as a murderer, slave, and thief. Christian pilgrims are called colonizers.
Rationality, individualism, and hard work are described as traits of white supremacy culture.
One of the first exhibits was about reshaping Lady Liberty into a black, trans, drag person.
The Smithsonian insists race relations haven’t changed since 1950. They claim Emmet Till is our ongoing present.
This is pure indoctrination.
