The Nuke Deal: So Far, We Aren’t Sure

The Iran nuclear deal has a lot of holes in the draft. Additionally, we will never get to see the secret codicils and the real fine print. The big problem is we don’t believe Iran will abide by the deal. As for what we don’t see in the draft, we either trust President Trump or we don’t.

The deal brings Israel into it. However, Israel hasn’t agreed to any of it. They weren’t part of the negotiations. Here is their part in it:

The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, together with their allies in the current war, declare upon the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding an immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and undertake that from now on they will not launch any hostile action against each other, and will refrain from the threat or use of force against each other. The final agreement will confirm the provisions of this Article and the remaining Articles.

So, what would that deal be like? They should stop bombing each other? Will that happen?

The $300 billion is reparations by someone(s) to help them rebuild. Hopefully, they won’t rebuild their arsenal.

We also don’t know to what extent the Strait of Hormuz will be open without “fees.” Iran is going to run it with their ally Oman, and they claim they will charge fees. Trump said there won’t be fees.

Trump argues that the real hardliners are gone and we are now dealing with the more reasonable lunatics.

However, the chief of their judiciary has sped up the murders of dissidents. They even kill children. They killed a nine-year-old girl.

No one believes we have the reasonable Iranians in place. However, keep the faith. President Trump hasn’t signed off on the details yet. We need to see the final deal. It is better than the last deal. Under that deal, they would already be building their bombs, which they deny they want, as they hide them underground and enrich up to 60%.

It would be difficult to continue the war with the Strait affecting the globe. Not only that. Iran allegedly has up to 160,000 active IRGC, up to 600,000 Basij, and 20 million reservists. They also have China and Russia if things go too far.  Our alternative is to bomb, but it seems obvious that we would need ground troops, and that has the potential for many American deaths. I don’t want that. What do you think?
