Thanks to President Trump, we have a Space Force, one of the few things Joe Biden didn’t destroy in four years. We also have weapons in space to compete with Russia and China, who are planning to do the same and possibly already have them.
Air Force Secretary Troy Meink announced at the 2026 Air and Space Cyber Conference on Monday, Sept. 14, that the U.S. has sent defense weapons into Earth’s orbit.
At the conference, Meink said evolving technologies, including artificial intelligence, “are revolutionizing the battlefield” and giving an edge to nations that otherwise wouldn’t have the resources to “scale their combat abilities.”
“We must increase our combat power and innovate faster than anyone else, affordably,” Meink said,“we need cost-effective combat power.”
“We are increasing readiness against existing threats,” he added, “and the United States has on-orbit space control weapons capable of defending the Joint Force against hostile adversary action.”
They added, “The U.S. has warned about Russian and Chinese weapons testing and operationalization since 2007. Due to their actions, it is no longer a question that space is a warfighting domain. Open communication strengthens deterrence, prevents adversary miscalculation, and normalizes space operations alongside the other services.”
We will eventually have a Golden Dome. This is also thanks to President Trump’s executive order.
The Golden Dome will protect the United States from today’s modern ballistic, hypersonic, cruise missile, and all other airborne threats. The goal of the Golden Dome for America, proposed by President Trump, is to create a layered, integrated, interlocking system of multi-domain systems that will allow the United States to protect against an adversary’s ability to threaten U.S. territories.
We will have weapons that will see clearly and farther than ever before.
The US will use satellites and sensors to constantly scan for missile launches. Rapid-response interceptors in orbit or near-Earth will be ready to engage targets quickly. And weapons to shoot down threats. AI-driven systems will ensure precision.
All of this is a great deterrent.
