For democrats that attempted assassination was killing two birds with one stone ( no pun intended)
although they failed at getting rid of Trump, they can now talk about banning AR 15s and even talk about getting rid of the second amendment.
and since Trump almost died, they can look at a Trump supporters straight in the eye and tell them;
” you almost lost your beloved Trump, can t you see we need to ban AR 15s and maybe even get rid of the second amendment ?? You almost lost Trump for God’s sake !”
The only reason Democrats agreed Kimberly Cheatle should resign is that it makes it look more serious, more dramatic how those AR 15s and those gun rights are a problem.
I watched the entire 5 hours hearings where they ” grilled” Cheatle and most Democrats were more interested in talking about AR 15s than about anything else.

They were pretending to be shocked to be appaled that Trump almost got killed, but it was obvious all they were interested in was using this to ban AR 15 and justify talking about getting rid of the second amendment.
Thomas Crooks could have used a different type of rifle, like those used for Deer hunting ( I am not into firearms, I would have to google what calibers those are)
and it would have changed nothing, in fact a larger caliber would have been probably more precise and would have killed Trump.
Blaming AR 15s is stupid and hypocritical.
