Update: I notified the company that their commenting system didn’t work with four security and caching systems, and they provided a fix this evening. It appears to work. I’m afraid to say it since it doesn’t seem to stick. The commenting system I use is known to be buggy, and only a tech can fix the problems. However, they all have big issues. Disqus has several issues, including costs, delays in posting, and the need to use their own server before it lands on mine. Some say you lose all your comments if you ever try to leave. Some people don’t want to sign up to write a comment, though you can use any social media account to do it easily.
Update: The voting doesn’t work again for some people. We will address it on Monday. It doesn’t always work the first time for me, but if I try again, it works in every browser.
The commenting system we have conflicts with caching and security at times. That is being corrected now. If I have to switch commenting systems, I will, but they all have flaws, and it will cost even more money than we will lose. We are trying again to fix this system. I just upvoted some commenters, and it worked for me. The tech said it works.

Well it’s a cross platform commenting system with many options and it’s always been my favorite. I know I’d be here a lot more often if it was used here.
I never used it. It is more expensive but I know better commenting systems are enjoyed by readers. I should be able to do it on Monday. This one, wpdiscuz, is finally working but for how long?

Easy fix is to remove the like feature all together, only purpose it really serves is information collecting, the like feature was designed for psychological assessment by big brother. It doesn’t work for me either and doesn’t bother me one bit. People would have to make a comment instead of a lazy like or thumbs down.

Good point. Like and dis-like are really irrelevant. It is the actual comment that you are trying to get out, not win a popularity contest.
You would be surprised how many people care about that.

The comment system you are using is the same as that used by Slay News. Their web site has also been having problems with comments, like giving a “NONCE NOT FOUND” message and not posting the comment.
That’s exactly the same problem. It’s not just us then. I really do have a great tech. Right now, I think it’s just the up and downvotes that don’t work.
It is very buggy, and only a developer can fix the bugs – or the company.
It is wonderful to see people show appreciation for all M. Dowling’s fine efforts. How many of us stop to think about all the hard work as well as the financial aspects of running the site. And then she has to deal at times with some rather vicious attacks. She has earned thanks and praise.
