Colorado Republican Rep. Jeff Crank introduced a measure Thursday condemning socialism [communism] in all its forms, telling Fox News Digital he wants to use the vote to force moderate House Democrats to take a more public stance against the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
“I keep hearing people like Hakeem Jeffries and others in the Congress saying that they oppose the DSA. Let’s see if they’re willing to vote for a resolution that would oppose them,” Crank told Fox News Digital in an interview Friday.
A recent Brookings Institution analysis found that, as of Aug. 12, 123 candidates endorsed or recommended by national, state, or local DSA chapters had won primaries this cycle.
Most were running for local or state-level office.
The DSA footprint in government is growing rapidly, and they’re lunatics.
Rep. Bryan Stiel said:
“We believe American elections are for American citizens only. We’re focused on making it easy to vote and hard to cheat. Our goal is to strengthen election integrity by passing common sense reforms like the Save America Act to require photo ID to vote and ensure that only US citizens are voting in our elections. Not surprisingly, the DSA opposes these common-sense ideas because they have fundamentally opposed securing our elections. It’s often said that socialism is easy to elect, but nearly impossible to remove. That’s because socialist [communist] ideology concentrates power in a way that has led to totalitarian rule time and time again
So far, only two Democrats are willing to speak up against socialism [communism].
The Democrat Whip was unhappy
House Democratic leaders were blindsided Tuesday when the two rank-and-file members crossed the aisle to help Republicans advance a series of GOP messaging bills heading into the midterm elections.
Rep. Katherine Clark (Mass.), the Democrat whip, said she received no notice from either Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) or Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.) about their intention to support a Republican rule governing the GOP bills. “That came as a surprise,” Clark said shortly after the vote. She wasn’t happy.
Obviously, they didn’t want to deal with her.
The minority party virtually always unites against the majority party’s procedural rules, even if individual members of the minority support the underlying legislation. “One of the rules of being on a team is that we vote against the rule. So. I’m sure we’ll have further discussions,” Clark said.
She’s going to bully them.
Democrats wanted to block the rule. It underlies other issues in addition to condemning socialism [communism]. The bill includes punishing universities that boycott Israel and amending protections for the North Atlantic right Whale.
Whale protections will harm fishermen who rely on the sea for their livelihoods.
