New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has signaled support for studying slavery reparations and has not ruled out cash payments, stating he will wait for official municipal commission findings before making a final decision
Taxpayers have funded welfare for Black people for decades, and it hasn’t helped in any really visible way. White Americans fought a Civil War for them. We have paid reparations.
We need reparations for all the harms done to everyone if this goes through. The idea of reparations began with the insane Pan-African black nationalist-communist movement. It is irrational and far-left nonsense. It’s white guilt brought on by the communist left. Of course Black Americans want it. Why not? They do feel aggrieved, and the left keeps telling them they are victims.
The mayor became a citizen 8 years ago, and identifies as Ugandan and Indian. His mother said he doesn’t consider himself an American. So, why does he have this power to put us against one another?
If Mamdani would like me, a white New Yorker who never owned slaves, to pay a black New Yorker who never was a slave, then I propose:
Every Muslim in NYC starting with Mamdani, should pay us for 9/11.

The Pan African Reparations Movement
Audley Moore (“Queen Mother”) was a prominent 20th-century Black nationalist, Pan-Africanist, and member of the Communist Party USA during the 1930s and 1940s. She later helped forge the modern reparations movement by merging Marxist class analysis with demands for back pay and land for Black Americans.
The African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) operated alongside the Uhuru Movement. This contemporary communist and African internationalist organization explicitly centers reparations as a core demand to correct historical and material exploitation. It’s absurd, of course. It’s irrational. We can’t make reparations for people long dead, and we aren’t the people who did it to them.
Early gatherings of Pan-African congresses featuring figures like W.E.B. Du Bois combined anti-colonialism with explicit calls for financial and structural compensation from European powers for the slave trade and colonial extraction.
There is nothing wrong per se with colonialism, but communists cleverly destroy every word we have approved of in history and in our current lives. Every word we might use to rebel against them, such as “resist,” “rainbows,” “freedom,” “change,” “democracy,” “kings,” or “enough is enough,” they have confiscated and bastardized. They even took the word “hope.” Then they tell us what words we cannot use, like “blue lives matter” or “white lives matter.” The words conceal motives.
