TMZ caught up with Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) recently and asked her opinion on the North Korea situation. She insisted diplomacy is the way to go.

Actually diplomacy has been used for 20 years since they pledged to go nuclear and it hasn’t worked. We’ve been using diplomacy since the 1950s. Now they have the bomb. We even gave North Korea $4 billion and allowed them to have two nuclear sites in exchange for their promise they wouldn’t build the bomb.

Maxine’s answer is give them what we want if possible.

The Free Beacon transcribed:

“I want us to be very careful, very alert to what is happening and to avoid war,” Waters said. “I think we can do this with some diplomacy, but we have got to have Tillerson, who is our secretary of state, get those positions filled for deputy [and] for assistant, so that we can engage with North Korea.”

She went on to say that she believes North Korea is issuing threats against the United States, but the United States should negotiate.

“I think there’s some things that they want from us, and we have to find out whether or not we can work with them on the things that they’re asking for,” Waters said.

It didn’t work for Barack Obama. The Obama administration knew North Korea had developed warhead technology back in 2013 and they knew they were sharing it with Iran. Then he gave Iran a deal and billions of dollars.

She wants more of that.

Former NSA head Susan Rice echoed Waters’ comments, saying the U.S. should ‘tolerate’ a nuclear North Korea.

Donald Trump had a different take. he responded to North Korea’s threats against Guam today by saying, Maybe “fire and fury” wasn’t enough.
