Outrageous Media Lies About Immigration Ban Based on Trump’s Businesses

This next news story is outrageous! The media is spreading blatant lies about President Trump’s immigration ban, falsely labeled a “Muslim” ban.

Obama Selected the Seven Countries

President Donald Trump did not pick the seven countries selected for a temporary refugee ban though the media would have us believe otherwise. Barack Obama either selected or continued the “countries of concern” list used by the current administration to temporarily ban immigration.

The media knows this but are publishing lies about Trump choosing countries his family doesn’t do business in. They are an arm of the Democrat Party.

NPR in particular needs to be defunded. Americans should not be paying for propaganda and their own brainwashing.

On Saturday, NPR published the fake news article about Trump picking Muslim-majority nations for the immigration ban based on his business interests. The countries not picked NPR contends are countries his family does business with.

The NPR writer asserts that “the Muslim-majority countries not affected by Trump’s immigration freeze” are “where Trump does business”.

Trump did not select other states “linked to his sprawling business empire,”  the media contends. Bloomberg and Forbes bought into this.

That’s a lie.

In February of 2016, the Obama Administration added Libya, Yemen, Somalia to a list of “countries of concern” with respect to its visa waiver program. The other countries already listed as countries of concern, under Barack Obama, are Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria.

That is the list the Trump administration used.

Furthermore, Trump’s executive order does NOT bar all people from the countries of concern, nor does it specifically NAME any countries except Syria. Media outlets are insisting that it’s a Muslim ban but it is not. Read it, it’s not.

The order seeks “to protect the American people from terrorist attacks by foreign nationals admitted to the United States.” It says that it seeks “Suspension of Issuance of Visas and Other Immigration Benefits to Nationals of Countries of Particular Concern.”

It also says “I hereby proclaim that the immigrant and nonimmigrant entry into the United States of aliens from countries referred to in section 217(a)(12) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1187(a)(12), would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, and I hereby suspend entry into the United States, as immigrants and nonimmigrants, of such persons for 90 days from the date of this order.”

And it targets Syrians specifically. “I hereby proclaim that the entry of nationals of Syria as refugees is detrimental to the interests of the United States and thus suspend any such entry until such time as I have determined that sufficient changes have been made to the USRAP to ensure that admission of Syrian refugees is consistent with the national interest.”

Trump didn’t mention the seven nations. Trump didn’t select seven “Muslim-majority” countries. They are Obama’s countries of concern. That’s where the current administration started to develop a system of “extreme vetting”.
