Biden signed an executive order to combat discrimination at a “Pride celebration” in the East Room of the White House on Wednesday. A large digital rainbow flag was on display. The event was attended by a roomful of LGBTQ activists, along with First lady Jill Biden, Vice President Harris, Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff, Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg, and Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine, a transgender.
The order will direct federal health and education agencies to expand access to gender-affirming care and advance LGBTQ-inclusive learning environments at American schools.
It will also curb federal funding for the practice of “conversion therapy,” and ask the Federal Trade Commission to consider whether the practice constitutes an unfair or deceptive act, NBC reports.
In an effort to address mental health in LGBTQ youth, Biden will expand access to suicide prevention resources. Biden is also launching a new initiative through the executive order to address discrimination and barriers that LGBTQ+ children and parents face in foster care, USA Today reports.

The order emphasizes the need to allow boys and men in girls’ and women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers if the boys or men say they are girls or a woman. That applies even if he is fully a man physically.

Mutilation Is OK, But Conversion Therapy Is Brutal?
Biden is worried about conversion therapy which is almost non-existent, but he’s not at all concerned about sexualizing children or cutting off children’s body parts, or giving them puberty blockers.
