UPDATE: She was fired this evening! This is great!!! President Trump wastes no time and gets things done. He’s like no president we’ve ever seen before. This woman violated the law. Her own department told her the President did nothing illegal.

A new acting AG has been hired. Dana Boente said he will be honored to serve.

Meanwhile Chuck Schumer is calling it a massacre but it’s more aptly called an appropriate beatdown.

In another update, the Rasmussen Reports survey, which was conducted last week, found 57 percent of likely U.S. voters support the halt of visitors and refugees from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen until approved vetting measures are in place. Only 33 percent oppose the measure.

All good news!

Obama Acting AG Wouldn’t Defend the Travel Ban

The New York Times reported that the Acting Attorney General, an Obama holdover, ordered the Justice Department to not defend the refugee ban. Justice Department lawyers will NOT make legal arguments to defend the ban. These people are completely lawless.

Acting Attorney General Sally Q. Yates ordered the Justice Department on Monday not to defend President Trump’s executive order on immigration in court.

“I am responsible for ensuring that the positions we take in court remain consistent with this institution’s solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right,” Ms. Yates wrote in a letter to Justice Department lawyers. “At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.”

Jeff Sessions will be confirmed soon and he will defend it. The NY Times says it “highlights the deep divide at the Justice Department and elsewhere in the government over Mr. Trump’s order.”

What it actually shows is the despicable lengths the prior administration will go to in damaging the new administration.

President Trump, who the NY Times calls “Mr. Trump” can and will fire Yates, however she is the one person who can sign foreign surveillance warrants.

“For as long as I am the Acting Attorney General, the Department of Justice will not present arguments in defense of the Executive Order, unless and until I become convinced that it is appropriate to do so,” she wrote.

This is deplorable behavior. Did they take the “Ts” off the computers yet?

She Violated the Law for Political Reasons

Trump had responded earlier this evening.

Many people are tired of bureaucrats.

Ambassador John Bolton told Lou Dobbs this evening that the department’s own internal general council, the office of Legal Council, reviewed the executive order and approved of it. She’s breaking the law.
