Safeguard Israel Act
The U.N. resolution 2334 declares the Jewish area of Israel is not part of Israel, including the most sacred Jewish holy sites. Both Sens. Graham and Cruz introduced a bill Thursday to cut off U.S. funding to the United Nations until the anti-American, anti-Israel organization rescinds its recently passed, vehemently anti-Israel resolution.
U.S. contributions to the U.N. is roughly $3 billion a year, which represents about 22% of their budgets.
The Safeguard Israel Act of 2017 seeks to “prohibit voluntary or assessed contributions to the United Nations until the President certifies to Congress that United Nations Security Resolution 2334 has been repealed.”
On Sen. Cruz ‘s website, he notes that in their legislation, there are numerous reasons why UNSC Resolution 2334 should be repealed, including:
- It attempts to pre-judge the basis for negotiations, predetermine the outcome of negotiations, and dictate terms and conditions, which is an abandonment of long-standing policy of the United States and previous commitments made to Israel.
- It falsely claims that Israel’s sovereignty over the eastern part of Jerusalem and Jewish communities in the West Bank are illegal under international law, and that the Old City of Jerusalem, along with the Temple Mount, the holiest site for the Jewish people, and the Western Wall are ‘‘occupied Palestinian territory’’
- It encourages the International Criminal Court to open an illegitimate formal investigation against Israel.
- It will help to strengthen the Palestinian diplomatic, economic, and legal warfare campaign against Israel and encourages boycotts, divestments, and sanctions against Israel
Senators Graham and Cruz described the Obama administration’s behavior by not vetoing the resolution as “an abandonment of long standing policy of the United States and previous commitments made to Israel.”
As their Safeguard Israel Act notes, the U.N. passes more resolutions against Israel than every other country combined, while ignoring the atrocities being committed.
If the bill passes, the United States will refrain from making any monetary contributions to the United Nations, or any of its subsidiary or specialized agencies, until the president of the United States ensures the repeal of the toxic U.N. resolution.
The Sentinel says defunding isn’t enough. We need to kick this anti-West organization out of New York. It’s run by thugs, crooks and dictators.

I fear the Israelis will assassinate Mr. Barghouti, who is a brilliant and articulate speaker for BDS, actually one of the founders. Assassinating the really good Palestinians, such as police officers, political leaders, is a disgraceful act carried out by the IDF. They have no honor left in the world. They are cowards manhandling children. And snipering Palestinians searching thru the rubble for their family members. Children being blown to pieces from bombs that never went off.
History has taught us that criminalizing civil society and outlawing
ideas, especially those that are guided by moral principles, is never
a good idea. Netanyahu is legislating laws against his own people who oppose his Likud party war crimes.
I see the death of so many innocent children, looking at the face of Netanyahu. He deserves no praise, no support, and one day he will be prosecuted and executed.
Maybe the little girls who wanted to stab the guard at a checkpoint, were the sisters of those little boys murdered on the beach. It’s never been tit for tat, it’s a genocide oversaw by Obama and Kerry and a Congress that few can respect. Or maybe they had no parents to even give them a warm bed, water, and love.
We know the Israelis are more than willing to give them cell beds, while some U S citizen Zionist reads his bible and says God gave me
this land and Netanyahu and his Israeli soldiers will back us up with bullets,even give us weapons to do it ourselves.
Good News, they just recently freed a 12 yr old Palestinian girl. You don’t have to teach children how to feel towards Israeli occupation.
It’s a double standard to Israel. American Politicians can’t be accepting Israeli crimes, they are so heinous, better to keep deaf, dumb, and blind. BDS is growing and it must succeed for the UN and the betterment of mankind.
The nations of the world have shown that in their minds, “MIGHT MAKES RIGHT”, with its inability to punish Israel, in any manner at all. The insight by North Korea has proven right. They are 2nd to Israel in human rights abuses and have successfully developed the bomb and soon the ability to reach us in the United States.
THE TRUE REALITY FOR PALESTINIANS IS FAR WORSE THAN THE SO CALLED LIES FROM ABBAS. Those who do nothing and need more evidence than what already exist, ARE AS SICK AS THE REPUBLICANS IN THE UNITED STATES. NOTHING IS GOING TO BE WORSE, I HOPE, THAN OPERATION PROTECTIVE EDGE. I BELIEVE THE REPUBLICANS ARE ALL COWARDS,IMAGINE KASICH SAYING HE’D WIPE THEM OUT.
The Palestinians don’t even have weapons to defend themselves. A slaughter is very accurate description of the IDF and OPERATION Protective Edge. NORTH KOREA CREEPS CLOSER AND CLOSER AND NETANYAHU KILLS MORE AND MORE.
Democrats can’t even use the word occupation. AIPAC is so powerful,
most candidates shudder at what their support or lack of can mean to
their future.
I don’t believe the soldiers I saw in photographs as a kid would ever condone what we have seen from the IDF. A grown man is WEARING A MASK and wrestling down a little boy. The shock and horror they endure is a shameful reflection of the so-called Quartets, not so great insight into what is going on, on the ground.
