Killer in Club Q – Free to Kill After Bomb Threat & Kidnapping – Update

At least five people were killed and at least 18 others wounded in an attack just before midnight Saturday in a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We’ll post his photo when it’s officially released. Right now, the wrong photo is all over Twitter and Facebook.

The shooter’s name is Anderson Lee Aldrich.

Update, his photo:
Heavy says this is Alrich with his mother.

Heavy was not able to find any social media profiles for Aldrich. But Facebook posts made by his mother reveal he had been dealing with mental health issues. She posted often about her son in a Facebook group for women involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Colorado Springs area. In one post in July 2021, she asked for help finding a criminal defense attorney, “Hello Sisters. Does anyone know of a fantastic defense attorney? I ask this with a heavy heart but my family really needs some help at this time. We have cash to retain good counsel. Thank you.” Her post about needing a criminal defense attorney came just after her son was arrested.

CNN reports that the attack was carried out with a firearm Club Q and 911 calls about the shooting began at 11:57 p.m.

Aldrich was subdued by patrons and injured.

At least five people were killed and at least 18 others wounded in an attack just before midnight Saturday on a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Not all of the 18 wounded were shot. About five are in the hospital, possibly including the shooter.

Aldrich, a Colorado Springs resident, began shooting into the club.

The club called it a hate crime, but the police have not yet assigned a motive to the shooter. The shooter was in the club with two guns, one a long gun.

Colorado has a red flag law, a ban on the sale of “high capacity” magazines, and gun storage requirements, among other controls. Colorado has so-called universal background checks. Nonetheless, the killer still had a high-capacity magazine with him.

The club was holding an all-ages drag show at the time:

The 22-year-old shooter in the LGBTQ+ nightclub, Club Q had a criminal history and was charged with bomb threats, possession of weapons, and kidnapping only one year ago, at age 21. It seems like he should have been in prison. Instead, he was free to kill.

According to the June 18, 2021, press release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the reporting party “said her son was threatening to cause harm to her with a homemade bomb, multiple weapons and ammunition. The reporting party was not in the home at the time when she made the call and was not sure where her son was.”

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on felony menacing and first-degree kidnapping charges.

Yet, he was still loose to kill people in Club Q. No formal charges were ever filed, and the case was sealed, so it’s not clear why, reported.

There is no clear motive yet.

Colorado has…a ban on the sale of “high capacity” magazines… Nonetheless, the killer still had a high-capacity magazine with him.

Journalists today do not even try to do a nit of research before typing up their garbage.

Hey, M. Dowling…it might intrigue you to know that just because so-called ‘high capacity’ magazines are not allowed to be sold in some states DOES NOT mean that people can’t just go buy them in another state and bring them back home. That is perfectly legal!

The last sentence of the quote: “…Nonetheless, the killer still had a high-capacity magazine with him.”

And you don’t even try to do a bit of reading comprehension before typing up your garbage.

Why wasn’t this guy in prison?
Why were the records sealed?
Was/is this guy an FBI asset?
You know, like Ray Epps.

An all-ages drag show! I find it hard to care for people who are willing to Condition Children. If this was an attack on a Christian Church that would be different.
The Alphabet Soup crowd just don’t get it. I think they are triggering people they abused as children. What we need is a full history on this guy and why formal charges were never filed in TX and the case was sealed.

Do all those ridiculous gun laws stop crime; obviously not. If this guy didn’t have a gun he probably would have used a bomb and killed even more people. Beware of what you wish for with dumb laws! My question is if you outlawed Drag Queen Shows for Minors would this attack have happened? Gays have a right to be Gay, but not a Right to Recruit Minors into what most people see as a Morally Objectionable lifestyle.
