Obama’s Perjurer James Clapper Claims Trump Is Putting U.S. Institutions “Under Assault”

Hyper-partisan James Clapper was out on the Sunday news show to tell Jake Tapper U.S. institutions are “under assault”, suggesting the firing of James Comey prompted his statement.

That is the idea – to fight the Big Corrupt Government and reduce it in size. We hope it is under assault.

A president firing an FBI Director is not a big deal but the media will make everything Trump does into a big deal.

“I think in many ways our institutions are under assault both externally — and that’s the big news here is the Russian interference in our election system — and I think as well our institutions are under assault internally,” Clapper said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Jake Tapper asked if he meant US institutions were under assault internally from the President, Clapper responded, “Exactly.”

Clapper then called on the branches of the government to step up their roles to check the executive.

They already are. Trump is finding it nearly impossible to get anything done due to a lack of cooperation, even from Republicans.

Clapper is an Obama appointee and admitted to at least one unmasking of Trump during testimony last week.

“The founding fathers, in their genius, created a system of three co-equal branches of government and a built-in system of checks and balances,” Clapper said. “I feel as though that is under assault and is eroding.”

Clapper has a credibility problem. He is a known liar and has been caught lying under oath to Congress. Perjury charges were never brought. While squirming pitifully under grilling,  he lied about spying on ordinary Americans. There were calls for him to be charged. He later resigned in disgrace.

CNN brought up Senator Mike Lee’s recommendation last week to appoint Judge Merrick Garland as FBI chief and they are pushing for that. That is a recommendation we would expect from the Southern Poverty Law Center. It’s a bizarre recommendation, presumably to open up the Circuit Court he oversees.

CNN also wants a special prosecutor on the Russia-Trump investigation. That’s what this is all about. It’s a way to keep it up for four years.

Clapper has repeatedly said there is no evidence of Trump-Russian collusion in the election and a liberal writer recently wrote in the book Shattered that it was a narrative invented by Robby Mook and John Podesta within 24 hours of Hillary losing the election.

This past week, Clapper qualified his statements and claimed he didn’t know about the FBI investigation. However, we all knew there was an investigation — it was leaked.

Now, this head of the NSA – the big kahuna who knows all – suddenly doesn’t know if there is evidence.

Clapper also said Sunday that the President and the White House are wrong to cite Clapper’s previous Senate testimony on the questions about alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia as proof that no such collusion exists, emphasizing that no one should portray his comments as “exculpatory” — something Trump has done repeatedly on Twitter.

“The bottom line is I don’t know if there was collusion, political collusion,” Clapper told Tapper. “I don’t know of any evidence to it. So I can’t refute it, and I can’t confirm it.”

That’s like saying Person A says he doesn’t know if Person B is married, followed by Person B saying I’m not married, and then Person A saying but I can’t confirm it and have to get to the bottom of it.

They are forcing Trump to prove a fact not in evidence.

Clapper cagily told NBC in March that there was no evidence:

CHUCK TODD: Well, that’s an important revelation at this point. Let me ask you this. Does intelligence exist that can definitively answer the following question, whether there were improper contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian officials?

JAMES CLAPPER: We did not include any evidence in our report, and I say, “our,” that’s N.S.A., F.B.I. and C.I.A., with my office, the Director of National Intelligence, that had anything, that had any reflection of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians. There was no evidence of that included in our report.

CHUCK TODD: I understand that. But does it exist?

JAMES CLAPPER: Not to my knowledge.

CHUCK TODD: If it existed, it would have been in this report?

JAMES CLAPPER: This could have unfolded or become available in the time since I left the government.

Earlier this month he told the Senate Judiciary subcommittee that he didn’t know about the FBI investigation.

Every Obama embed who is fired by Donald Trump will be presented as proof Trump his attacking the “institutions”.

There is also a kerfuffle over whether President Trump asked Comey for a pledge of loyalty. Comey allegedly said he didn’t agree to it and Trump said he never asked. Whatever the case, what if he did? Lynch said she served at the “pleasure of the President”. So do all of these Chiefs.

Comey was fired for cause. It should have been done with grace and wasn’t, but it needed to be done.

There is also evidence that one of the revered institutions Clapper has called upon – congress – was also comprised. The government watchdog Judicial Watch believes information was fed from intelligence services to a Democrat senator who leaked to the media.

Many of the leaks fall at the feet of Clapper and James Brennan. Comey couldn’t be trusted either. No one investigated these leaks so far as we know.

If there was any evidence of collusion, we’d know by now.
