Trump Defunds UN Population Control Agency Which Funds China’s Forced Abortions

So it begins! U.N. funding is being reviewed by the Trump administration and the State Department announced on Monday that it will end funding for the U.N. Population Fund. That is the family planning/abortion/child health agency that is now spread out into 150 countries.

In a letter to U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker, the State Department said it was dropping the funding because the U.N. Population Fund (UNFPA) “supports, or participates in the management of, a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.”

In January Trump reinstated the Mexico City Policy that withholds U.S. funding for international organizations that perform abortions or provide information about abortion.

The UNFPA denies that they support coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization in China. UNFPA said its mission is “to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.”

For years the UNFPA has been complicit in the China forced abortions, one-child, now two-child policy.

Let China pay for their own population control.

The cut amounts to at least $32.5 million for the 2017; the department said it will redirect the funds to the U.S. Agency for International Development, which provides medical care to families across the world, Lifesite news reported.

Family planning is a euphemism for population control. Stephen Moore, writing for CATO, criticized it back in 1999. This defunding has been long times coming.

This is part of Trump’s determination to review all U.S. aid abroad.

Democrats didn’t have a problem with forced abortions.

For example, Vice President Joe Biden has no problem with the government forcibly sterilizing people and compelling abortions according to his remarks in August 2011 at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China yesterday discussing the U.S. debt:

“What we ended up doing is setting up a system whereby we did cut by $1.2 trillion upfront, the deficit over the next 10 years. And we set up a group of senators that have to come up with another $1.2 to $1.7 trillion in savings or automatically there will be cuts that go into effect in January to get those savings. So the savings will be accomplished. But as I was talking to some of your leaders, you share a similar concern here in China. You have no safety net. Your policy has been one which I fully understand — I’m not second-guessing — of one child per family. The result being that you’re in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable.”

Well, Trump is concerned.
