A source told Fox News that Donald Trump’s arraignment will be on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. in Judge Merchan’s courtroom on the 15th floor at 100 Centre Street in New York City. He will surrender without handcuffs.
If convicted of these misdemeanor charges that Soros DA Alvin Bragg decided are felonies, Donald Trump could face four years in prison. NBC News states that the Judge could put a gag order in place. The judge for the arraignment is Judge Merchan, who presided over other ‘get Trump’ cases, such as the one against Mr. Weisselberg.
THE POTENTIAL 34 PAPERWORK CHARGES
Mike Pomerantz, the former Manhattan prosecutor who resigned wrote a book tearing Donald Trump apart. He found ’45’ “disgusting.” NBC News quoted him in their report:
But here’s what we do know: Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 just days before the 2016 election. In Cohen’s version of events, this was done at the direction of his boss because Daniels was on the cusp of going public about an affair she alleges she had with Trump in 2006.
Trump, while he was in the White House, reimbursed Cohen, but has consistently denied the affair. But the payment of the hush money, by itself, wouldn’t be the crime.
A paperwork crime:
In this case, the possible crime is how the payments were documented on the books of the Trump Organization.
According to Mark Pomerantz, a former prosecutor who worked closely on the case and recently published a book about his experience, Cohen submitted phony invoices throughout 2017 referencing a “retainer agreement” and requesting payment. Then Cohen received a series of checks, hand-signed by Trump while he was in the White House. The legal problem is there was no retainer agreement — according to Pomerantz, it was all done to cover up the hush money scheme. The fake documentation of “legal expenses” on the Trump Organization’s books could trigger a charge under New York state law, which makes falsifying business records a crime.
Normally, the false business records charge would be a misdemeanor. In order to elevate it to a felony, the defendant needs to have created the fake records with an intent to commit or conceal “another crime.” We don’t yet know what the Manhattan district attorney’s office may argue is the second crime.
Just using Pomerantz and Cohen for an article is biased.
When Cyrus Vance tried to make the hush money into a crime, he failed. The Southern District of New York couldn’t find a crime. Stormy Daniels lost her civil lawsuit and owes Donald Trump over $300,000. Alvin Bragg himself dismissed the case last year because he said there wasn’t enough evidence.
The case is beyond the statute of limitations. So far, Donald Trump has been denied due process, attorney-client privilege, and executive privilege. Will he now be denied the right to have the case rejected because it is beyond the statute of limitations?
Law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Secret Service, New York Police Department, FBI, New York State court officers, and the DA’s office, will meet Friday afternoon to finalize details about the logistics and security of Trump’s arrest, reports Fox News.
“Just like we do with our spending bills, we should convict Donald Trump of these charges right away so that we can see what’s in them,” said Nancy Pelosi. “Trump has many pages of charges that are probably horrible and we just don’t have time to read them all. Doing it this way is much more efficient!” Pelosi’s statement was then interrupted by her teeth getting stuck in an ice cream bar she was eating.
Sources speculate the list of charges against Trump includes paying hush money to a stripper, colluding with Russia to overthrow the United States government and usher in 1000 years of darkness, and being really yucky and Trump-like. “We don’t need a list of charges to know that Trump is guilty of being Trump,” said Pelosi. “Let’s get this over with already.”
Manhattan’s DA had announced 3,000 additional pages of charges were brought in at 1 AM in the morning.
It’s rather pathetic that so many are not self-aware enough to realize their only satisfaction in life is to be ecstatic that a former President has been indicted. It’s even worse this time because they weren’t satiated enough in the previous occurrences.
If the judge is crooked, Trump gets convicted.
That’s what I keep saying. They are not doing this for nothing.
Our federal government is in dire need of replacement by any means necessary.
I’d be willing to take up arms to remove this treasonous, cancerous, fake, rotten government from from our country. Its time to start taking them out.
Its time to hang the traitors. Start at the top and work our way down.
Is the correct response: Ho-hum?
That would not not indicate that the kangaroo court could not do great mischief but that after all the impeachment kerfuffle, document nonsense, and the repeated violations of Tumps rights and privacy, the average person with who I speak is getting sick of the craziness, especially in the light of the people attacking Trump seemingly have no concern about punishing real criminals, nor any concern for the victims of their crimes.
I wondered if a grand jury of average citizens could actually buy into thinking that Trump was guilty of 30+ counts of criminal activity. Then I started to think about how crazy things seem to have become in at least portions of the United States.
For a WWII child this brings back memories of the KGB and their kangaroo courts or the horrible persecutions of the Mao era in China and public humiliations etc. that are so typical of totalitarian regimes.
Being an American living abroad, though faithfully voting, I feel I am watching what a believed to be a great country torn apart and made to appear like a caricature of a third world banana republic.
The grand experiment of the republic is being torn apart by the very people that seemed to have benefited most by the freedoms created. What amazes me is that so many by into the non-critical thinking that seems to have overtaken so many.
After watching a number of interviews with random people, especially those on university campuses I think if Wilt Chamberlain had said he had gotten in touch with his “feminine side” and wanted to play in the WNBA and then won 15 straight national championships averaging 120 points/game many would hail ‘her’ as a heroine and the greatest female basketball player ever. The claim in the 1991 book, A View From Above, “of having slept with 20,000 women would have made ‘her’ also a lesbian heroine.
Have things really deteriorated to that point?
Yes, they have, but for a main reason that most don’t suspect. It’s not that the broad expanse of American society has deteriorated that much, it’s that the insanely freakish parts of American society have begun to dominate the 24/7 media of our country. Media, by its very own quintessence, is sensationalistic and, therefore, prefers the out-of-ordinary, the weird, the freakish, the destructive, etc. to report on ad nauseum. And there’s the point–ad nauseum–because in a sane society tragic, deadly, freakish, and destructive incidents are reported upon and then mercifully left to those involved to handle the recovery. Incessant, continuous, never-ending reporting on freakish incidents conditions the not-too–bright common man to think that this is the way it majorically is as opposed to a hyperbolized, exaggerated version that the Media creates. Print’s bad but not as bad as visual and visual from which most average Americans derive their views has become nothing more than video-vultures ready to pounce and augment at a moment’s notice. Yeah, that’s you MSNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, NEWSMAX, CNN. Wake up, you clowns, before you completely destroy this country.
