Russian and Ukrainian negotiators thought tentative progress was made in peace talks and were inching towards a deal that would force Kyiv to renounce its NATO ambitions. Then, today, Ukraine rejected the deal.
The Russian deal demands a guarantee of neutrality.
Additionally, Russia said Ukraine can keep its armed forces but not allow foreign bases. They want NATO trainers and weapons removed, and implementation of Minsk 2. Russia also wants Crimea recognized and Donetsk and Luhansk recognized as independent.
In exchange, all troops will be withdrawn from the territory they won since Feb. 24.
UKRAINE NIXED THE DEAL AS THEY TRY TO GET NATO INTO THE WAR
Ukraine reportedly rejected the deal. According to The Daily Mail, they demanded guarantees that international forces will “prevent attacks”. Kyiv’s negotiators also rejected a proposal for Ukraine to be neutral, like Sweden.
Those are the two things Russians are staunchly opposed to.
This might be a good time for the US to tell Zelensky to make the deal.
Summing up peace talks from the Russian side, one senior official told Reuters that there is “a small chance of a peaceful resolution.” He added, “Something will be decided in the next three days to a week.”

Remember 2 weeks ago, Putin was going to have Zelensky assassinated. That simply doesn’t make sense. Zelensky understands the murderous aggressor Putin will have to withdraw in a few weeks as his resources are exhausted from poor military performance, miscalculation and low morale. They are now being extorted by Russia to give up their sovereign status.

Stop the carnage and take this deal. Zelensky is looking for handouts from the West. This s not our fight, war hawks in Washington shut up and take a look at a disaster our country has become after stolen election. This illegitimate Biden is looking at this war as a way to absolve himself of a disaster he alone has caused on all fronts imaginable, from open borders, to skyrocketing inflation, to energy crisis, to supply chain disaster, to out of sight national debt, to out of control DOJ and FBI conducting illegal persecution of Biden’s political opponents, to out of control federal bureaucracies protecting teachers unions and attacking concerned parents, to political KGB style unlawful treatment of Jan. 6th protesters. It all will be blamed on Putin now.

I don’t know which is worse, Zelensky’s intransigence and the willing to sacrifice a million citizens, or the nations propping him up to continue. The man hasn’t seen real War, Yet. Will he look into the eyes of those million families and say “I did it for You”. Has he even Seen the total devastation of his Own country, by his Own forces. Has he seen a city of 25,000 homes leveled with but barely over a dozen left. He just may be reaping what he has sown. He’s beginning to sound like Captain Ahab.
