President Obama told a black audience in September, 2011, “… ‘take off you’re bedroom slippers, put on your marching shoes, shake it off, stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying, we’ve got work to do…”
Al Sharpton is taking it seriously, parroting Obama’s anti-gun rhetoric and worse. Rev. Al has no problem taking guns away from others because he can afford to hire big bodyguards with guns. I know that’s true because I have seen him in person. There is hardly breathing room between him and his 5-6 guards. I don’t begrudge him his guards so why does he begrudge me my guns?
He and one of his panelists in an appearance on MSNBC said that anti-gun people are anti-semites for disagreeing with Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
At 1:20 you can hear Sharpton and another talking head claim the complaints against Bloomberg are driven by anti-semitism. They make the assertion without citing one fact to support their case:

It’s ironic coming from Al Sharpton. He has a long history of anti-semitic comments and race-baiting.
In July, 1991 he joined a public brawl with a city college professor who blasted the “rich Jews.” In the middle of the argument, he said, “If Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.
The next day, a 7-year old black boy was accidentally run over by a Jewish cab driver in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. A riot broke out and a young rabbinical scholar was stabbed to death. He then incited the rioters more, marching through the streets, yelling, “Kill the Jews, No Justice! No Peace!” He continued stirring the riots. [weasel zippers]
At a funeral on Aug. 26, 1991, Sharpton complained about “the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights,” a disparaging reference to the Brooklyn neighborhood’s Orthodox Jewish population.
Anti-gun people are often found among the anti-semites and the racists.
Anti-gun people are often statists who want to control others. They think they are the elite who will decide which amendment we are allowed to keep. They are the ones who put us in danger of falling prey to anti-semitism and racism. Once you give up one amendment…
The worst anti-semites – the Russians and the Germans – were anti-gun.
When the communist movement began in Russia, they were a small minority – it could have been stopped. In 1918, Russia began their first firearm registration. After the alleged shooting of Vladimir Lenin, Russians were ordered to surrender their firearms. Members of the communist party were exempt and allowed to keep their weapons.
In 1925, Lenin, firmly in control at that point, added the criminal code, which made possession of a weapon punishable by hard labor. In 1935, Lenin added knives to the list, making their possession punishable “including death, down to 12-years old.” He murdered untold numbers of Jews.
Stalin took control from 1929 to 1953. Stalin killed 10 million people unimpeded. He initiated a pogrom against the Jews among others.
In 1938, German NAZIs expanded restrictive gun laws already established by the notorious Weimar Republic. The regulations decreed that “Jews are prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as cutting or stabbing weapons. Those now having in their possession weapons and ammunition must at once surrender them to the local police authority.”
We will never know what an armed Jewish population in Russia or Germany would have meant but we can learn something from our own history.
It was the Southern racist Democrats who kept guns from the Blacks so they could continue slavery. After the civil war, it gave tremendous power to the Democratic Klu Klux Klan.
The first gun control law in this country was in 1640 and it forbade blacks from owning guns, whether they were freemen or not.
When Chief Justice Tanney rendered his infamous decision in the Dred Scott case of 1857 he said that if blacks became citizens then it would give them the “right to keep and carry arms wherever they went.” That of course was unacceptable.
Republicans continually supported the rights of blacks to arm themselves from the Civil War on.
President Grant urged the passing of the anti-Klan Act and used it to almost obliterate the Klan. The Klan came back in the early 1920’s and people who joined had to become members of the democratic party.
After the civil war, democratic legislatures established “black codes” that were used to deprive blacks of their basic civil rights.
In 1893, Florida had a law that forbade black laborers from having guns. It was never applied to whites.
Martin Luther King couldn’t get a gun permit as late as 1956.
The NRA began giving charters to blacks who sought to defend themselves.
The great civil rights hero and WWII war veteran, Robert Williams, came from North Carolina, a cesspool of violence against blacks. After the Brown v. Board of Education decision, the violence and murders by Klansmen against blacks escalated, particularly in his hometown in North Carolina.
Williams built up the local NAACP and received a charter from the NRA in 1957.
The NRA has a long history of fighting the Klan. They are a single issue rights group and are neither Democrat or Republican.
Once armed with the charter, Williams formed the Black Armed Guard, and fought the Klan. Williams believed in armed self-defense to fight the violence of the Klan. [newsreel]
The Black Armed Guard didn’t have to actually shoot their oppressors, in fact I don’t believe they ever shot anyone. Just the fact that they had the guns was enough to deter the Klan. Deterrence works!
In the 1950’s and ’60’s, the leftists began to show up at black rallies and disturbances. They took over and erased history. They distorted how the role of Republicans and the role of Democrats in the civil rights movement was to be perceived.
Williams became a flawed leader. He was a Republican who was eventually controlled by the radical left and was used as a pawn by the communists in both Cuba and China after he was falsely accused of kidnapping a White couple he actually shielded from the Klan.
He spent time in Cuba and China, even supporting Mao Tse-Tung, a man who appealed to him because of his (Mao’s) alleged fight for the downtrodden. Mao was actually the man he should have been afraid of. It was about that time that our history was rewritten by the left.
Samuel L. Jackson recently told the LA Times, “I don’t think it’s about more gun control. I grew up in the South with guns everywhere and we never shot anyone. This [shooting] is about people who aren’t taught the value of life.”
Condoleeza Rice in an interview with Larry King in 2005, “The way I come out of my own personal experience, in which in Birmingham, Alabama, my father and his friends defended our community in 1962 and 1963 against White Knight Riders by going to the head of the community, the head of the cul-de-sac, and sitting there, armed. And so I’m very concerned about any abridgement of the Second Amendment.”
Rabbi David Bendory told the blaze: “God has given you the precious gift of life, and just like any precious gift, you have the responsibility to care for that and treat it with the proper respect. The Talmud has a teaching that if someone is coming to killing you[sic], strike him down first. That effectively means that while initiating violence is not ever an appropriate thing to do, violence when used in defense of self is not only righteous, but a required responsibility.”
