Big News: Iran’s Leaders Call Obama Administration Liars

Every day this week, including today, Iran’s leaders have accused the Obama administration of being liars; they have insisted the sanctions are not going to be phased out; they will keep their nuclear architecture; Iran will continue to spin centrifuges; will develop their long-range missiles; and there will be no intrusive inspections, especially on military installations of which there will be none.

What a deal!

Actually, as of today, the Iranians said if the P5+1 thinks sanctions will be phased out – there’s no deal.

The president even admitted – accidentally – that by the end of thirteen years, Iran will be free to build nuclear weapons without any breakout time.

There is little doubt that Iran will get everything they want.

This is my favorite tweet.

In an article in Time Magazine, the Supreme Leader of Iran said the U.S. cannot be trusted.

“I have told the officials to not trust the opposing side, to not be fooled by their smiles, to not trust their promises because when they have achieved their objectives they will laugh at you…. After every round of talks they make public comments that they then tell us in private was meant to save face in their own country and to counter their opponents, but this is their own problem and has nothing to do with us.”

On the same day that the fact sheet came out from the White House, President Rouhani demanded that all sanctions on Iran be lifted immediately when the deal is concluded. “We will not sign any agreement, unless all economic sanctions are totally lifted on the first day of the implementation of the deal.”

Foreign Minister Javad Zarid said almost immediately that removing sanctions immediately is part of the agreement they made.

Another Iranian leader, Kazzem Jalali said on Monday that there is no agreement, just a statement and neither side agrees on what’s in it.

Every day this week, the Iranians have said the sanctions will be lifted forever and immediately and they’ve called the Obama administration liars. Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan has made it clear that there will be no inspections of military sites.

Iran’s missile defense capability is also non-negotiable according to Dehqan. Iran is developing intercontinental missiles that could reach the United States. He has said that the sanctions failed to slow their progress in this area.

He claims missiles are for defensive purposes and Israel should be worried.

In terms of the sanctions, it could be the first day or one year. it matters little. Once China and Russia drop sanctions, we will become insignificant in the scheme of things. The Ayatollah says it will be the first day but he could be simply moving the goal posts because he knows we might give in.

This morning Javad Zarif said the sanctions will not stand in the way of the deal. The following tweet just came out from reporter Laura Rozen.
