Day of Rage: The Republic Is Safe…For Now

The Guy Fawkes, as in V for Vendetta, Contingent

The comic series, V for Vendetta, depicts a near-future UK after a nuclear war, which has left much of the world destroyed, though most of the damage to the country is indirect, via floods and crop failures. In this future, a fascist party called “Norsefire” has exterminated its opponents in concentration camps and now rules the country as a police state. “V”, an anarchist  revolutionary dressed in a Guy Fawkes mask, begins an elaborate, violent, and intentionally theatrical campaign to murder his former captors, bring down the government, and convince the people to rule themselves.

That is the metaphor intended by the people in the photo. They are anarchists.

I will give a brief summary of the day of rage rally here now, but I have a short video of the event to post tomorrow.

There were 800-1000 people who descended on Bowling Green Park today for the Day of Rage. If you don’t know what the day of rage is about, you can get the details here: Commie and Anarchist Rally

Most of the attendees called themselves Socialists and their hatred of Capitalism was palatable. They were mostly young people, in war paint or other bizarre attire, and some old hippies, attempting to recapture their glory days.

I felt like I went trippin’ into 1967 and I don’t mean that in a good way. There were groups representing anti-bank, anti-Wall St., anti-Capitalism, anti-Rich, pro-Palestine, anti-war, Ron Paul (who were unwelcome), pro union, anti-death penalty, pro-environment, anti-police violence, and so on.

Their literature and their speeches centered on fostering Socialism, killing Capitalism, and the glories of anarchism. I think this is what is meant by the expression, the great unwashed masses, because, as I went from group to group when they broke up for their motivational speeches and ideology share-time, the odor of unwashed bodies was not to be ignored.

CBS had an article about the rally and no where could I find any mention that the protesters were Socialists and Anarchists and that was the point of the entire day. How do you trust the media when they omit the single most important aspect of this protest?  The protesters want to substitute Totalitarianism for Capitalism, all while shouting perplexingly, “This is what democracy looks like.” Read here: CBS – lying by omission

I have a video I will post tomorrow and it really says it all better than I can. These protesters plan to camp out for months and claim thousands more of their ilk are on the way. I do think they have potential to start some serious trouble. One old hippie went up to a group of young rebels and told them the cops were pushing him, which was a complete fabrication. The old hippie was there to enflame.

For the moment, the Republic is safe. No one of sane mind is going to follow these people.
