The DHS is working with the ACLU to stop deportations of some illegals in Arizona. In one case, the ACLU claimed a woman, 38-year old Ruth Montano, could not be deported to her native Mexico because her arrest was the result of racism.

The efforts in Arizona are in an attempt to eliminate or slow down Secure Communities, a program that holds illegal immigrants for deportation. [Judicial Watch]

An illegal immigrant in Milford who dragged a man to his death while driving drunk doesn’t have to stand trial because the judge said he doesn’t speak English well enough. The judge has essentially given license to any illegal immigrant to pretend he doesn’t speak English and escape justice.

WOAI report quotes officials saying “the number of people entering the U.S. illegally is way up and, tragically, the number of undocumented immigrants who have been found dead in the unforgiving Texas Brush Country is way up, and is on path this year to beat last year’s record for the number of people found dead in the ranch country.”

One ranch owner in Brooks County, Texas, Linda Vickers, told WOAI that she witnessed one man being arrested by ICE on her ranch saying in Spanish, ‘Obama’s gonna let me go.’

“When you have amnesty waving in the wind, you’re going to get an increase,” Vickers says. “And when you get an increase, especially with this heat, you’re going to get an increase in deaths.”

Border Patrol agents report that some immigrants will even ask, “Where do I go for my amnesty?” while they are surrendering.

The numbers of illegals crossing the SW border has increased, especially since the gang of eight began meeting to discuss amnesty. Janet Napolitano ignored the numbers to say the numbers are trending in the right direction.

Secure Border Intelligence, a group of citizens in Arizona, have used motion-detector cameras to record illegal immigrants coming into America.

Arrests have surged by 13% since the gang of eight announced their plan for immigration reform. Many are drug smugglers.

Fox News reports that Mexican drug cartels are deep within our borders, establishing themselves as our new Mafiosa. The cartels are sending their most respected agents to set up shop. The cartels are showing up in our major cities like Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Columbus, Ohio, Louisville, Ky., and rural North Carolina. Suspects have also surfaced in Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania AG Kathleen Kane warned in January that drug cartels “are taking over our neighborhoods.”

Janet Napolitano now says she judges success, not by how many we apprehend, but how much of an effort we make:

We are being told it is too insulting to refer to illegal aliens as such despite the fact that it is descriptive and it is the wording used in the law. The word illegal is also out because they aren’t really illegal.

These efforts at changing the language is the first step in changing how we think about people coming across illegally.

It is not racist to describe who they are using appropriate legal terminology.

Illegal aliens is the correct terminology.
