Obamacare Is Poised to Kill People

The following chart is the actual 2010 government estimate of people who would lose their employer-sponsored healthcare coverage under Obamacare (via weasel zippers).

This was published by the government before we heard Obama and his colleagues in Congress say repeatedly that if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.

The low-end estimate is 40% to 50% will lose their employer-sponsored healthcare and the high end estimate is 70% to 80%.

The Obama Administration told us Obamacare would reduce waits in ER’s because everyone would now be covered. That wasn’t true either. Increases in Medicaid have in the past resulted in increased wait times in ER’s according to a Harvard study.

Twice as many people have signed up for free Medicaid than those who have signed up for the exchanges.

The administration claims 2.1 million have signed up for the exchanges though they have no idea how many have paid. Estimates are about half have paid. Medicaid signups total about 3.9 million.

It is a complete disaster and it will worsen the ER situation.

Business Week reported that a state Medicaid expansion in Oregon five years ago led newly insured patients to visit ERs 40 percent more often than the uninsured, which runs counter to the government’s assumptions that it will reduce waits.

Katherine Baicker, an economist at the Harvard School of Public Health, who helped write the Oregon study, said that people who gained Medicaid coverage used ERs more often for “a broad range of types of visits, conditions and subgroups,” including problems that could be treated in less costly settings.

Apparently, ER’s are the poor’s preferred choice for health services.

Medicaid enrollment will jump 35% from last year. It’s not only going to burden the system, it’s unaffordable. Insurance companies will go out of business. The doctor shortage will create another catastrophe.

According to the Daily Mail, people are being turned away from a hospital in Northern Virginia or they are walking out because they can’t prove they are covered, one man hadn’t received a bill.

People needing emergency care are leaving hospitals after being told they’d have to pay up front or they’d be liable for thousands of dollars in expenses.

One person experiencing chest pain left after being told he’d face a bill of $3000 a day.

Another man who believed he was covered needed a surgery but the doctor and the hospital could not find evidence of coverage. The doctor operated anyway because the man needed the surgery but the doctor will probably not be paid.

Michael Moore, lover of Cuban healthcare, said Obamacare is awful and is insisting we go immediately to Single Payer. That was the goal all along. Mr. Moore seems to think that more of a bad thing is better. His thinking is right in line with this administration.

Will people who have seen what a disaster government healthcare is now buy into the idea of 100% government healthcare?

Will Americans remember all of this when they go to the polls in November? Will they even show up at the polls?

Every Democrat refused to vote for legislation that would allow Americans to keep their healthcare plans:

Obamacare is a fiasco. It exemplifies government incompetence. It is also illegal. Today, 11 state attorneys general, in a letter to Kathleen Sebelius, slammed the Obama administration for what they say are illegal changes and fixes.

The healthcare dot gov website continues to experience serious problems. It’s almost impossible to enroll babies for health insurance for example.

The White House blog still has lies posted on their website. They claim you can keep your insurance if you want to; click here to read it for yourself. They haven’t taken it down.

If you don’t want to be bothered clicking the link, it says:

You can keep your own insurance

Linda Douglass of the White House Office of Health Reform debunks the myth that reform will force you out of your current insurance plan or force you to change doctors. To the contrary, reform will expand your choices, not eliminate them.

Look at what was posted on the White House blog on January 01:

Today is a new day for the millions of Americans who finally have the security that comes from quality, affordable health coverage. And those who already have health insurance will have better, more reliable coverage than ever before. From now on, insured Americans won’t be forced to put off a check-up or worry about going broke if they get sick.

While there is much more work to be done, beginning today, no family will be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition…

Can you believe the unmitigated gall of these people?

The Obama Administration and the congressional democrats decided to play with one-sixth of the economy and put the lives of millions of Americans in danger. It’s their signature legislation and they plan to run on it while blaming Republicans for their failure.
