Yes, the Taliban is a terrorist organization and our president negotiated with them. Mr. Obama arranged for the release of five of the worst Taliban. One of those released founded the Taliban, all are terrorists and at least one is a war criminal. There is almost no chance they will refrain from going back to the field of combat to fight our soldiers. When asked to give estimates on a scale of 1 to 10 as to whether these five terrorists would return to the battlefield to kill Americans, CIA director James Clapper said for four of them the chances were a 9, and for 1 it was an 8.
Obama has said he will offer no apologies.
The Taliban have been greatly boosted by Mr. Obama’s actions but Afghans have said it has demoralized Afghan forces. It can’t make our military in Afghanistan feel confident.
Many soldiers died because of the terrorists he released and more will die. Most likely, some died trying to capture these terrorists which Mr. Obama so blithely released.
NBC News reported Friday that one of the worst of the Taliban released by Mr. Obama – Mullah Norullah Noori – has promised to go back to the battlefield and fight Americans there.
One of the five Taliban leaders freed from Guantanamo Bay in return for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release has pledged to return to fight Americans in Afghanistan, according to a fellow militant and a relative.
“After arriving in Qatar, Noorullah Noori kept insisting he would go to Afghanistan and fight American forces there,” a Taliban commander told NBC News via telephone from Afghanistan.
Noori pushed to return to Afghanistan after learning that the U.S. had provided written assurances that no country would arrest any of the five freed for a year as long as they lived peacefully, one of his relatives told NBC News by telephone from Afghanistan.
Under the terms of the deal, the former commanders would remain under the control of the government of Qatar for one year and be subject to “restrictions on their movement and activities,” a senior U.S. official has told NBC News –- including a one-year travel ban. A diplomatic source later told NBC News that their movements within the Arab emirate are not restricted.
This was certainly 100% predictable. Mullah Norullah Noori is ‘wanted by the United Nations (UN) for possible war crimes including the murder of thousands of Shiite Muslims,’” the Long War Journal reported, adding that he fought with Al Qaeda in Afghanistan before the September 11 attacks.
WikiLeaks obtained a secret 2011 document which recommended his continued detention for the following reasons: Detainee is an admitted senior member of the Taliban and led troops against US and Coalition forces. Detainee was directly subordinate to Taliban Supreme Leader Mullah Omar, commanded Taliban forces in northern Afghanistan, and in late 2001, he was in charge of Taliban troops positioned near Mazar-e-Sharif. Detainee is wanted by the UN for possible war crimes, including the murder of thousands of Shiites. Detainee is also associated with members of al-Qaeda, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and the Hezb-E-Islami Gulbuddin (HIG). Detainee continues to be a significant figure encouraging acts of aggression and his brother is a Taliban commander…
Noori is a hardliner committed to the Taliban philosophy, the report added.
Senior military officials told Mr. Obama to not make the trade for these dangerous terrorists, but he’s the president and he does what he wants.
Congress was also opposed to such a trade. Mr. Obama, however, has a pen and a phone.
In 2008, Mr. Obama was very indignant when he felt John McCain was unfairly insinuating he would negotiate with terrorists:

Mr. Obama released war criminals and terrorists who will go right back to the battlefield. They won’t be retiring to Palm Beach and while they are in Qatar, where they are being treated like royalty, they will most assuredly get in touch with the Taliban at home.
A Taliban commander, Mullah Salem Khan, who spoke with the Daily Beast by phone, said that Mullah Mohammad Fazil’s release is “the best news I have heard in at least 12 years,” says Khan. “His return is like pouring 10,000 Taliban fighters into the battle on the side of jihad. Now the Taliban have the right lion to lead them in the final moment before victory in Afghanistan.”
Khan also said that this release brings them “closer to the harbor of victory.” He said that they kept Fazil’s name alive while he was in GITMO. He’s a great commander and he said they are in short supply.
Fazil is close to Mullah Omar and he has a reputation for cruelty.
In addition to Fazil and Noori, terrorists Abdul Haq Wasiq, Khairullah Khairkhwa and Mohammed Nabi Omari were also released.
Abdul Haq Wasiq served as the Taliban Deputy Minister of Intelligence. He was recommended for continued detention under DOD control. He was central to forming alliances with other radical Islamic groups. He used his office to support Al-Qaeda.
Khairullah Khairkhwa is the former governor of Herat and was directly associated with Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar. He helped found the Taliban movement.
Mohammed Nabi Omari was recommended for continued detention under DOD control. He engaged in attacks against UN and coalition forces. He is closely allied with al-Qaeda.
When he was interviewed, Taliban commander Khan promised there would be more kidnappings of Americans: “It’s better to kidnap one person like Bergdahl than kidnapping hundreds of useless people,” the commander told TIME magazine. “It has encouraged our people. Now everybody will work hard to capture such an important bird.”
Sen. James Infhofe called this release “Obama’s atrocity.” He also said to forget Bergdahl and concentrate on these five dangerous people now on the loose.
“We have the five most dangerous people out there.” We must talk about “the real risk to us now,” warned Inhofe.
In speaking of Mr. Obama’s actions, he said, “First of all, we have a president, and his atrocity was that he turned loose the five most dangerous people that are over there; secondly, he told the Taliban exactly when the U.S. would go out regardless the conditions on the ground, but listen to the third thing, he told the Taliban that he’s going to declare an end to hostilities.”
“What that means is once you end hostilities, anyone who’s in there, you can turn loose. This president haas had an obsession to close GITMO now since before he was president of the United States. His legacy now is …to get it closed. And this is the price we have to pay to do that I suppose so the door’s can just open and he’d walk away. That’s a serious thing.”
Men have died over Bergdahl, but how many did Mr. Obama just sentence to death by releasing their would-be killers?
This is what happens with a lawless president who does whatever he wants.
Professor Jonathan Turley explains what is going on quite clearly in this video:
Mr. Obama won’t negotiate with Republicans. He thinks the tea party people are terrorists while appeasing vicious terrorists and war criminals. There is something seriously wrong with this president and his entire administration of liars and fools.
