George Soros, in a recent Newsweek article, predicted the upcoming U.S. class war. That’s not a tough prediction for the most uninformed of us since that is what Obama has been promoting since he became President.
Soros says he is worried the world is in a period of “evil” and that the world might descend into “chaos.”
The “evil” Soros sees is capitalism, but he softens his attack with a left-handed excuse for the evil doers – merely a manipulative technique on his part.
Soros says in the article, “Unrestrained competition can drive people into actions that they would otherwise regret. The tragedy of our current situation is the unintended consequence of imperfect understanding. A lot of the evil in the world is actually not intentional. A lot of people in the financial system did a lot of damage without intending to.”
Soros is quoted in the article as sympathizing with the OWS, but denies the many financial connections that have been made between him and the OWS. Facts appear to belie his protestations. Brookfield Properties owns Zuccotti Park, the Occupiers home base. Soros is a big investor in Brookfield Properties. There are many other connections such as his funding of OWS backers – MoveOn, Media Matters, and Center for American Progress.
Soros predicts there will be “riots in the streets.” There is no question that the OWS are capable of rioting in the streets. Having spent time with them, I have seen who they are.
They are students, druggies, homeless, anarchists, communists, anarchist-communists, socialists, democratic-socialists, libertarians, national-socialists, unions such as AFL-CIO, United Steelworkers, and other unions, Media Matters/MoveOn/Center for American Progress members, open borders activists, anti-semites, pro-Palestinian groups, police haters, and almost all of them are Obama supporters.
Inexcusably, colleges such as NYU and Columbia have praised them, given them credit for attending a rally and they offer classes in OWSism.
If Soros and the unions decide there will be rioting in the streets, they can easily orchestrate it because they already have angry mobs roaming the country under the somewhat controlled organization of “occupiers,” occupiers who have the unmitigated gall to “occupy” anything they want because they are “entitled.”
Of the OWS, Soros says –
People “have reason to be frustrated and angry” at the cost of rescuing the banking system, a cost largely borne by taxpayers rather than shareholders or bondholders.
Occupy Wall Street “is an inchoate, leaderless manifestation of protest,” but it will grow. It has “put on the agenda issues that the institutional left has failed to put on the agenda for a quarter of a century.” He reaches for analysis, produced by the political blog ThinkProgress.org, that shows how the Occupy movement has pushed issues of unemployment up the agenda of major news organizations, including MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News. It reveals that in one week in July of last year the word “debt” was mentioned more than 7,000 times on major U.S. TV news networks. By October, mentions of the word “debt” had dropped to 398 over the course of a week, while “occupy” was mentioned 1,278 times, “Wall Street” 2,378 times, and “jobs” 2,738 times. You can’t keep a financier away from his metrics.
There you have it, Soros wanted to make the news. Of course the Tea Party asked for some of the same things, but they were demonized because they wanted free enterprise to be the end result. The OWS want statism and government control.
Soros elaborates in the article about his prediction of violence with the insinuation that the result might be a repressive political system and he is almost gleeful about it –
As anger rises, riots on the streets of American cities are inevitable. “Yes, yes, yes,” he says, almost gleefully. The response to the unrest could be more damaging than the violence itself. “It will be an excuse for cracking down and using strong-arm tactics to maintain law and order, which, carried to an extreme, could bring about a repressive political system, a society where individual liberty is much more constrained, which would be a break with the tradition of the United States.”
The man who broke the Bank of England while it was under conservative control because he wanted to show the bank’s weakness is now the benevolent investor turned savior of the world’s economies. He claims, for example, that he is investing in the Italian euro because he cares about the governments of Europe and the U.S.
Again, facts don’t support his kind statesmanship. In France, Soros is a convicted felon for engaging in insider trading. In the nineties, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said he had information which indicated that Soros was behind weakening the region’s currencies. “Soros,” Mohamad claims, “was using the wealth under his control to punish Asean for welcoming Burma.”
Then there is this from examiner.com which connects taxpayer money, Soros organizations and a propaganda paper in Thailand whose purpose is to promote the Soros Open Society:
On August 10th Activist Post determined that U.S. taxpayer money has been going to fund a media news source in the nation of Thailand, and that this program to fund an independent newspaper has been in partnership with many foundations owned or funded by George Soros.
After initially trying to downplay, obfuscate, and deny accusations that the Thai “independent, non-profit, daily web newspaper” Prachatai was in fact a US-funded propaganda front, a series of reports from Land Destroyer provided irrefutable evidence taken directly from the US government-funded National Endowment for Democracy website.
Prachatai’s goal is to undermine the Thai establishment’s legitimacy while concurrently building up the legitimacy of the “international community,” global “civil society,” and to promote globalist talking points. A visit to Prachatai’s homepage reveals links running off to Soros-funded “Open Democracy,” Soros and Ford Foundation funded “Global Voices,” the globalist International Institute for Strategic Studies… –Activist Post
Soros funded anarachist groups were allegedly behind riots and the eventual financial collapse in Thailand where he is known as “The Devil.”
There is some evidence he is involved in a plan to topple Netanyahu.
Soros might want to save us for his open society. The Soros Open Society calls for a far left agenda – he believes in a one world government. On April 11th of this year, Soros, an anti-capitalist, said, “The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States. The time has come for a very serious adjustment.” He actively and openly supports a one world government.
Soros puts his money where his mouth is and financially supports the United Nation’s Agenda 21 projects in our country through ICLEI (local governments for sustainability). The main goal of Agenda 21 is a one world government.
In the Soros article, he talks about his difficult youth and his survival during the Nazi occupation of Hungary. His 60 Minutes interview on December 20, 1998 might give one pause about the conflicted character of the man or perhaps you will feel as sympathetic as the Newsweek article portrays him. You decide. The following transcript was taken from Media Matters, a far left site.
KROFT: (Voiceover) To understand the complexities and contradictions in his personality, you have to go back to the very beginning: to Budapest, where George Soros was born 68 years ago to parents who were wealthy, well-educated and Jewish.
When the Nazis occupied Budapest in 1944, George Soros’ father was a successful lawyer. He lived on an island in the Danube and liked to commute to work in a rowboat. But knowing there were problems ahead for the Jews, he decided to split his family up. He bought them forged papers and he bribed a government official to take 14-year-old George Soros in and swear that he was his Christian godson. But survival carried a heavy price tag. While hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews were being shipped off to the death camps, George Soros accompanied his phony godfather on his appointed rounds, confiscating property from the Jews.

KROFT: (Voiceover) You’re a Hungarian Jew…
Mr. SOROS: (Voiceover) Mm-hmm.
KROFT: (Voiceover) …who escaped the Holocaust…
(Vintage footage of women walking by train)
Mr. SOROS: (Voiceover) Mm-hmm.
(Vintage footage of people getting on train)
KROFT: (Voiceover) … by — by posing as a Christian.
Mr. SOROS: (Voiceover) Right.
(Vintage footage of women helping each other get on train; train door closing with people in boxcar)
KROFT: (Voiceover) And you watched lots of people get shipped off to the death camps.
Mr. SOROS: Right. I was 14 years old. And I would say that that’s when my character was made.
KROFT: In what way?
Mr. SOROS: That one should think ahead. One should understand and — and anticipate events and when — when one is threatened. It was a tremendous threat of evil. I mean, it was a — a very personal experience of evil.
KROFT: My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson.
Mr. SOROS: Yes. Yes.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.
Mr. SOROS: Yes. That’s right. Yes.
KROFT: I mean, that’s — that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?
Mr. SOROS: Not — not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t — you don’t see the connection. But it was — it created no — no problem at all.
KROFT: No feeling of guilt?
Mr. SOROS: No.
KROFT: For example that, ‘I’m Jewish and here I am, watching these people go. I could just as easily be there. I should be there.’ None of that?
Mr. SOROS: Well, of course I c — I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was — well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets — that if I weren’t there — of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would — would — would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the — whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the — I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.
KROFT: In what way?
SOROS: That one should think ahead. One should understand and — and anticipate events and when — when one is threatened. It was a tremendous threat of evil. I mean, it was a — a very personal experience of evil.
