Freedom of Religion Rallies

The President of the United States has declared war on religion and will not back down. He has told the Catholic Church specifically that there will be no new accommodations and that they need to face “enlightenment.” What hubris!

They have come for religious freedom now, and what will be next?

Two Nationwide Rallies will take place, one locally in every state in the union on March 23rd and one in D.C. on March 25th

Information about the March 25th Rally is below

“Stand Up for Religious Freedom—Stop the HHS Mandate!” March 23rd

The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom is being held Friday, March 23 at noon, local time, outside federal buildings, Congressional offices and historic sites across the country.

Thousands of Americans of all faiths will be participating in these peaceful rallies, organized by the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society to oppose the new mandate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that requires all employers provide free contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs through their health plans, even in violation of their consciences.

Religious leaders and other public figures will speak out against the HHS Mandate at each Rally site. Holding signs reading “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” and “Stop the HHS Mandate,” participants will offer hymns and prayers for our nation and pass out literature to the public about why the HHS Mandate is unconstitutional and Un-American.

The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom will be a peaceful, family-friendly, non-partisan, ecumenical event. For more information, please see the Rally Guidelines and Protocols, below.

Encircle the Supreme Court in Prayer March 25th

Posted by Matt Yonke (March 14, 2012 at 3:42 am)

Supreme Court BuildingThe week after the March 23 Rally for Religious Freedom, the US Supreme Court is hearing three days of arguments regarding the Affordable Care Act—the healthcare bill that has brought the HHS Mandate upon us among other deeply troubling concerns.

So on Sunday, March 25 from 2 to 4 p.m., people of faith will hold a vigil to Encircle the Court in Prayer, surrounding the Supreme Court building in prayer that justice may be done in these proceedings. You are invited to be a part of this historic event.

Specifically, prayers will be offered that whatever conclusions the Supreme Court reaches on the Affordable Care Act, that the religious freedom and freedom of conscience will be respected, that there will be no taxpayer subsidizing of abortion, and that the US Constitution will be honored.

At the end of the vigil, 3,300 flowers will be left around the building to remind the justices of the 3,300 Americans who lose their lives every day to the horror of abortion. Participants are asked to bring their own flowers.

Please take part in this vigil if you’re in the DC area and if you can’t make it, please join in prayer in solidarity wherever you are. It will be a fitting extension of the March 23 Rally and the ongoing fight for religious freedom.
