Update: Update: A document written by an Islamic State (ISIS) operative in Libya says that the group plans to flood Libya with fighters from Iraq and Syria, and have them sail across the Mediterranean Sea pretending to be refugees on human trafficking vessels, Newsmax reported.
We know that Europe is awash with an unprecedented number of refugees pouring into Europe from lawless nations including Libya.
Update: ISIS has united with Ansara al-Sharia in Libya and has expanded to more than three provinces. Their goal is to have a terrorist state across from Europe and most particularly – Rome.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi ordered the quick evacuation of Egyptians from Libya and of any Egyptian citizens who want to return home from Syria or Iraq. This is after 21 Coptic Christian Egyptians working as migrants were kidnapped in Libya. Some or all are believed dead.
Twenty or twenty-one Coptic Egyptians were abducted in the Libyan city of Sirte on two separate occasions, only one week apart. Seven were kidnapped on December 31, 2014, while the remaining 13 were captured on January 3.
ISIS called the abducted men “Coptic crusaders”, an interesting concept promoted by Barack Obama recently. ISIS kidnapped the men, innocent workers, to avenge Coptics allegedly preventing Christian women from converting to Islam.
On Thursday, alleged pictures of the abductees (one photo is shown below) went viral on social media after they were published by a magazine affiliated with the Islamic State fighters. They were clad in orange, a colour usually signalling the captives’ death sentence by the group.
Al-Arabiya reports that the fighting by militants is far worse than it’s been since the overthrow of Gaddafi.
ISIS is gaining ground in Libya.
By most accounts, Libya is now considered a failed state with huge swaths of land in the hands of blood-thirsty terrorists. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton wanted to unseat a vile dictator with an air campaign. When the U.S.-backed Libyan government asked Obama to help train their military and their police after Gaddafi and his forces were defeated, Obama refused.
Much of Libya is ungoverned. Terrorists can easily assume power.
The emir of Derna in Northern Libya has proudly stated that they are the first town in Libya to swear allegiance to the ISIS caliphate.
This week, the Pentagon went public with its concerns, when the commander of the US army’s Africa Command told reporters that ISIS – also known as ISIL – is now running training camps in Libya, where as many as 200 fighters are receiving instruction, the Guardian reported.
“ISIL has begun its efforts over in the east out there,” said General David Rodriguez. “It’s mainly about people coming for training and logistics support right now.”
ISIS show of force in Derna, Libya, a town of 100,000, is pictured below.
ISIS is terrorizing the residents, executing youth, and enforcing strict Sharia law in the town. The black flag of ISIS flies over government buildings. Police cars carry the group’s insignia. The local football stadium is used for public executions.
Residents say they are used to protesting but are afraid to now.
Libya is a tempting target with its oil rich fields and its close proximity to Europe. Unless Libya is brought under control, ISIS will have a haven on the Mediterranean.
Given our president’s weakness, it is not likely Libya will be brought under control.
ISIS forms enclaves and then connects them. This is only the beginning of their incursion into Libya.
They gave their statement and it is not known if they returned the radio station after they gave their insane speech.
Alleged photo of ISIS in the radio station is shown below.
ISIS has also expanded into Afghanistan but Obama is still planning to continue the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. All but a thousand soldiers will be pulled out by the end of the year.
Breitbart reported that Robert Grenier, the former station head in Islamabad said, “I would say if anything the future threat of an Afghan safe haven is maybe even greater than it was back before 9/11.”
Barack Obama says they do not present an existential threat.
Unchecked, they will soon present an existential threat.
Just three years have passed since an American-led bombing campaign destroyed the regime of Moammar Gaddafi in Libya and sent the country into a downward spiral. This war was waged unilaterally by Barack Obama. Barack Obama removed a long-established regime without a strategy of what to do once the air campaign was over. Post war actions by vicious rebels screaming Allahu Akbar made it obvious the situation could quickly deteriorate. Obama refused to intervene after destroying the regime. The vacuum left by Obama’s war is being filled.
In October 2011, President Obama touted his success in Libya.
“In Libya, the death of Muammar Gaddafi showed that our role in protecting the Libyan people, and helping them break free from a tyrant, was the right thing to do,” he said.
“In Iraq, we’ve succeeded in our strategy to end the war,” Obama added.
It only cost a billion dollars to ruin Libya but Mr. Obama touted the success of the air-only campaign. He still thinks it was the right thing to do.
