Bowe Bergdahl is back in the Army! He will have a nice cushy job starting today according to the Defense Department. He will be a “regular Army soldier” sitting at a desk.
Bergdahl has completed his therapy – he’s cured and all is well.
His return to active service is part of his “reintegration” into Army life. He will live in barracks and two other soldiers have been assigned to “help him readjust.”
Last Thursday, Senator Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat who heads the Armed Services Committee, released letters from each of the Joint Chiefs of Staff supporting the repatriation of Sergeant Bergdahl, a rebuttal to critics who said the swap should not have been made.
The government is treating this case as something less than a case of a soldier going AWOL. This man is a deserter and possibly a collaborator. Even an AWOL soldier could face a year in jail and a separation from the Army but not the deserter Bergdahl.
This is a grave insult to our military and especially to the soldiers who served honorably with him while he risked their lives as they searched for him and he hid from them.
Megyn Kelly’s riveting interview:
Meanwhile, Barack Obama has allowed Sgt. Tahmooressi to rot in a Mexican jail for 105 days. Sgt. Tahmooreesi, unlike Bergdahl served his country honorably through two tours of duty in Afghanistan, the “good war” as Obama and Hillary put it.
This is a slap in the face of our military men and women who risk their lives and do the right thing in the face of extreme adversity.
