Lancashire England has lawbreakers with a sense of humor. The police uncovered a pot factory in a farmhouse on Pot House Lane. I’m sure the irony wasn’t lost on the cannabis growers.
It’s not often that one finds a sign pointing to the scene of the crime. It made it easier for the buyers, imagine the conversations: Where do you get your ganja man? Oh, on Pot House lane of course.
Police found about 200 plants in an upstairs bedroom of the farmhouse.
Apparently this is worth about $80,000.
I’ve never smoked pot and have zero interest in it. I do like a glass of wine here-and-there. I know a lot of people want to make pot legal, but working in education, I’ve seen too many children go from pot to the hard stuff. I have also seen too many potheads become lazy and apathetic.
When I was in the Netherlands, I didn’t see it as a plus. The kids were hanging out, dazed and sounding stupid, in their “coffee shops.”
People often say that people want it, so make it legal. This is where I have to sound like NYC Mayor Bloomberg – don’t do it. It’s unhealthy and it is a gateway drug. Check out the health effects here.
It’s a sad commentary on society that we need to get high to survive. How much better to get high on life. Life offers so much – sports, art, music, literature, history – those are the highs people would benefit from.
Interesting NPR story here.
