In a “60 Minutes” interview, when asked about Vladimir Putin’s challenge to his leadership, President Obama huffed, “I got to tell you, if you think that running your economy into the ground and having to send troops in in order to prop up your only ally is leadership, then we’ve got a different definition of leadership. My definition of leadership would be leading on climate change….”
This is just the latest Barack “critique” of the Vladimir’s foreign policy. Previously we’ve heard him endlessly warn Vlad about the consequences of Russia’s increasingly muscular geopolitical policies.
Referencing Putin’s aggressive actions in Crimea, Obama has pontificated: “a diplomatic resolution cannot be achieved while Russian military forces continue their incursions into Ukrainian territory”, “Any violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity would be deeply destabilizing, which is not in the interests of Ukraine, Russia or Europe.”, “a refusal to send troops back to their bases in Ukraine would impact Russia’s standing in the international community” Week’s following “The One’s” many stern warnings, Russia triumphantly celebrated its annexation of Crimea.
More recently, referring to the Russian strongman’s belligerent behavior in Syria, Barack scolded: “An attempt by Russia and Iran to prop up Assad and try to pacify the population is just going to get them stuck in a quagmire and it won’t work. “Mr. Putin had to go into Syria not out of strength, but out of weakness…”, “The strategy they’re pursuing right now of doubling down on Assad is a mistake.”, “And that’s a recipe for disaster.” To this point it’s been United States backed Syrian rebels, killed during targeted Russian air strikes, who’ve suffered an ongoing “disaster”. If that wasn’t bad enough, Vlad’s boys are being joined by Iranian ground forces, forming an unholy alliance that’s taking control of the Middle East.
We’ll use the following playful similes to highlight the genuine farce that is Obama’s “advice”.
Obama advising Putin on foreign policy would be like:
“Ice-T” giving acting lessons to Al Pacino.
Executives at MSNBC telling execs at Fox News how to get a bigger audience.
Bill Clinton offering marital tips to Mitt Romney.
Monica Lewinsky giving suggestions on loving, long term relationships to Barbara Bush.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel holding a seminar on how to reduce gun violence in major American cities.
New York City’s Bill DeBlasio giving workshops on improving relations with police.
Planned Parenthood counseling Tim Cook on Apple’s marketing strategies.
Bernie Sanders guiding fledgling entrepreneurs through their small business start-ups.
Baby butcher, Kermit Gosnell “schooling” Dr. Ben Carson on the separation of co-joined twins.
Hillary Clinton lecturing to an “Honesty and Transparency in Government Class”.
And finally, Obama advising Putin on foreign policy would be like Mitt Romney warning Barack Obama that Russia was, “the biggest geopolitical threat facing America.” NO, WAIT! That was serious, subsequently proven, insightful commentary made by the Republican to which Obama, trying to be funny, derisively replied, “….the 1980’s, they’re now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.”
Yeah, Barack was absolutely hilarious. Three years later, a pumped up Vladimir Putin is still laughing….while ominously dominating the world stage.
