Updates at the end
The administration has declared open season on police officers nationwide and now two more officers have been shot dead.
Officers Benjamin J. Deen, 34, (photo left) and Liquori Tate, 24, (photo right), were making a traffic stop when they were shot, Hattiesburg, Mississippi Mayor Johnny DuPree said.
This is Mother’s Day and two mothers are without their sons and this is how they will forever experience Mother’s Day. Officer Deen’s wife is a mother and this is how she has to celebrate Mother’s Day for the rest of her life.
Police have apprehended two suspects, Curtis Banks (photo left) and Marvin Banks, ages 26 and 29. Both brothers have previous felony convictions.
Will Loretta Lynch visit their families and hold their hands? Perhaps she will go and investigate the police instead.
Who will come out and mourn for the THUGS first? If I sound bitter, it’s because I am. In order to federalize police, Barack Obama has set them up.
After the shooting, the suspects stole a police vehicle, which they used to flee. It was later found abandoned, according to CNN affiliate WDAM.
Police also took a woman into custody who was with the suspects at the time of the shooting, WDAM reported. They have not said whether she was involved.
Officer Dean who is married with two children was Officer of the Year in 2012. Officer Tate graduated from the academy last year.
Passersby Tanika Mills and Pearnell Roberts came upon the scene. Tania Mills said
Never in my life have I experienced or seen anything like this expect on TV and to be in the midst of it, it’s shocking and heartbreaking. As we were coming down Fourth Street, we noticed a bunch of lights. As we came on through, (Roberts) told me to turn around because she saw somebody laying on the ground.
So I backed up. That’s when we noticed the officer was down. We just saw that one, but in the course of me being on the phone with 9-1-1, I turned and I saw another officer across the street rolling on the ground. (Roberts) ran across the street to check on him. He wasn’t all the way alert but he asked her, ‘Am I dying? I know I’m dying. Just hand me my walkie-talkie.’
The possible murderers who stole the police vehicle were picked up hours later.

Joanie Calloway who was in the car when the officers were murdered has also been charged.
Marvin Banks, 29, and 22-year-old Joanie Calloway have each been charged with two counts of capital murder, and Banks’ 26-year-old brother, Curtis Banks, has been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of capital murder.
The murder weapon has not yet been found.
Update: 20:00est: A fourth suspect, Cornelius Clark, was arrested this evening and charged for obstruction of justice.
Officer Deen saw something untoward when he stopped the trio and he called for backup. Marvin Banks then shot the two officers.
Ronald Tate, Officer Tate’s father, said that his son thought people were generally good. He loved everybody – he was peaceful. “This was my baby,” Mr. Tate said. “He was just wonderful. He was doing what he wanted to do. He texted me every day.”
“Ever since he was small, he liked police cars..he was fascinated…he graduated with a certificate in automotive.” Then he told his father he wanted to be a police officer. “He had this fire in his soul.”
His father said Liguori’s sister is devastated. He was her protector.
