Democrats are more out in the open than they have ever been. They are now admitting that their ultimate goal is gun confiscation. The president and Hillary Clinton already admitted they want an Australian buyback and then tried to pretend they didn’t say what they clearly said.
Breitbart reported that six Democrats in Georgia’s state House of Representatives proposed a bill on Jan. 11 that would “require seizure” of “certain weaponry and ammunition” that in their mind is contraband. It effectively bans so-called “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines.” It makes a felon out of anyone who possesses any of the guns.
This is Georgia mind you!
HB 731 would amend current law to “prohibit the possession, sale, transport, distribution or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.”
These weapons would be seized by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
One of the sponsors, Margaret Oliver stated on her website that“Georgia needs debate about these weapons which are only used for rapidly killing people,” the statement read. “Assault weapons are not necessary for deer hunting.”
Guns aren’t just for deer hunting of course. Democrats don’t believe Americans have the right to own guns for self-defense.
The bill reads, “No person shall possess, distribute, transport, transfer, or sell any assault weapon. Any person who distributes, transports, or imports an assault weapon into this state shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than two nor more than ten years.”
The bill continues with a description of an “assault weapon” which is defined as any automatic, semiautomatic, or burst fire or part designed or intended for use with the firearm. It then has a long list of popular guns including pistols and rifles including the Algimec Agmi, Armalite AR-180, Australian Automatic Arms SAP pistol, Auto-Ordinance Thompson type, Colt AR-15, the Bushmaster Auto Rifle and Auto Pistol, and on and on.
A “large-capacity magazine” is defined as “any firearm magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has the capacity of, or can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than ten rounds of ammunition.”
A semiautomatic center-fire rifle or pistol that has a fixed magazine with the ability to accept more than ten rounds is included in the ban as are grips, telescoping or folding scopes, pistol grips, shrouds that keep the shooter from being burned, and so on.
After Jan. 1, 2017, those who possess them face severe punishment.
“Any person who possesses a large capacity magazine on or after January 1, 2017, that was obtained by such person prior to July 1, 2016, shall be fined not more than $100.00 for a first offense and shall be guilty of a felony for any subsequent offense,” it reads. “Any person who possesses a large capacity magazine on or after January 1, 2017, that was obtained by such person on or after July 1, 2016, shall be guilty of a felony.”
Those who do possess either an assault weapon or a large-capacity magazine, as defined in the text of the bill, on July 1, 2016, will need to either modify the weapon to magazine to “render it permanently inoperable or such that it is no longer an assault weapon or large capacity magazine” or give the firearm over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to be destroyed; gun owners will have an Oct. 31, 2016 deadline to do so.
The bill–HB 731–is sponsored by Mary Margaret Oliver (D-83rd), Stacey Abrams (D-89th), Carolyn Hugley (D-136th), Pat Gardiner (D-57th), Dar’shun Kendrick (D-93rd), Dee Dawkins-Haigler (D-91st).
