Famed MLB pitcher Curt Schilling on Monday shared a meme to his Facebook page that one pro-LGBT website called “disgusting.” It was a photo of an obviously mentally ill transvestite dressed as a half-naked woman.
The meme read, “Let him into the restroom with your daughter or else you’re a narrow-minded, judgmental, unloving racist bigot who needs to die!!!”
It’s just a stupid meme – a joke – and the point is one people should be allowed to make. It’s called free speech. Target is now letting anyone go into any bathroom and if people don’t like it, they should stop shopping there and send them an email telling the management why.
Curt Shilling has always been outspoken but the left bans outspoken people and humor at their expense, especially if it makes a point. That doesn’t mean I like the meme or would post it myself.
He isn’t being fired because he offended, he’s being fired because he exercised free speech and people are losing sight of that key issue. These people are the thought police.
The extreme photo was meant to make a point.
He later deleted it and said he didn’t make the ugly post, which is true, he shared someone else’s capture of someone else’s photo.
Schilling has since been fired. They are a private company and can do what they want but firing a person for his free speech will keep me from watching them. Their considered opinion was that keeping him would be a net loss for them which might be true and wouldn’t be if people stuck to their convictions.
It doesn’t matter if he’s rude. It’s free speech.
He added to the post saying, “A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”
in a blog post Tuesday, telling anyone who was offended, “that’s your fault, all yours.” Schilling went on to call the controversy over his shared post “beyond hilarious.”
“I didn’t post that ugly looking picture. I made a comment about the basic functionality of mens and womens restrooms, period,”
Last year, he got in trouble for comparing the jihadists to the Nazis but later apologized because people took it the wrong way.
In March, he said about Hillary, “She should be buried under a jail somewhere.” Well, that’s a fact, isn’t it?
People may not like and may be offended by his comments but we should be defending his right to say it. Black Lives Matter run around calling for the murder of police and that’s okay. It’s so okay that they have become advisors to the president. Occupiers take over buildings and threaten people and that’s okay too. The president can constantly demonize and humiliate half the country as well as have his IRS target them – no problem.
