The truth is hard to come by when it’s coming from our government and that is a very sad commentary on where we are today.
The Daily Beast is covering the latest scandal to hit the White House. According to their report, “more than 50 intelligence analysts working out of the U.S. military’s Central Command have formally complained that their reports on ISIS and al Qaeda’s branch in Syria were being inappropriately altered by senior officials, The Daily Beast has learned.”
The Pentagon’s inspector general opened the investigation and suggests “there are deep-rooted, systemic problems in how the U.S. military command charged with the war against the self-proclaimed Islamic State assesses intelligence.”
Why did the Pentagon let this out if it potentially damages Barack Obama?
The word “systemic” might offer a clue. If it is systemic, will it become a problem of the military’s, one that Obama could not possibly assume blame for?
Could this be the next big excuse for Obama’s failed foreign policy?
The Daily Beast doesn’t portray Barack Obama as in on the planning of bad intel, but rather he was “briefed” on it.
Two senior analysts at CENTCOM signed a written complaint sent to the Defense Department inspector general in July alleging that the reports, some of which were briefed to President Obama, portrayed the terror groups as weaker than the analysts believe they are. The reports were changed by CENTCOM higher-ups to adhere to the administration’s public line that the U.S. is winning the battle against ISIS and al Nusra, al Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the analysts claim.
IN 2014, Barack Obama blamed intelligence agencies for ISIL being so much more than a JV team. He blamed James Clapper.
“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” Mr Obama told CBS News.
When the Benghazi talking points were changed, he had nothing to do with it, the CIA did it.
There is a pattern here. It’s not Barack Obama who is at fault, it’s the military. Wait for it, it’s coming. It comes none too soon with Russia now building a military fortress in Syria.
