CBS Local reports that a middle school in Port Washington, Long Island is banning footballs, baseballs, lacrosse balls on school grounds because someone might get hurt. They also banned cartwheels and tag.
The Superintendent said it’s warranted because of the number of playground injuries.
Couldn’t they just step up their monitoring of the playground?
Parents rightly believe it’s more about lawsuits.
More schools want to jump on the ball ban bandwagon so expect more of this.
Port Washington will allow soft foam balls.
Gee, that will sure teach them skills.
