Obama invites Cuban spies to “‘tour’ American national security facilities”

It makes absolutely zero sense to allow spies from a State Sponsor of Terrorism to tour one of our military installations.

Communist Cuba is run by the military and the Cuban Border Guards are controlled by The Interior Ministry. They also operate small coastal artillery garrisons in conjunction with the Cuban Army and Navy as well as joint exercises.

The Cuban Interior Ministry directs the Intelligence Directorate, the political police, and an intelligence service modeled after the Soviet-era KGB intelligence service, Free Beacon reports.

They have very close ties to Russia and Iran.

Why would any US president invite them over “seeking closer ties” by bringing them to some our secure Port facilities?

My belief is because birds of a feather flock together.

Barack does think well of their education system and doesn’t seem to get that they haven’t opened up anything. Obama has been known to say the Cuban Revolution was likeThe American Revolution the American Revolution. He blamed the US for impoverishing Cuba and has made US businesses operate under the communist rules.

It is an open invite to spies. In fact, spies will definitely be among the visitors. Cubans would be stupid not to do it. It’s an opportunity.

The Cuban regime already has an aggressive intelligence spy operation, why make it easier for them?

Security analysts are concerned.

These radical communists are going to visit Coast Guard bases in Florida and Alabama for a second time. The Department of Homeland Security, which is a joke under Jeh Johnson, invited them and won’t tell the public anything about it. The Cuban communists can know but we can’t.

It’s said to be an exchange program. We’ve had programs like this with the Russians and Chinese. Not a fan of those either.

“These visits represent professional exchanges between the U.S. Coast Guard and the Cuban Border Guard to discuss issues of mutual interest such as at-sea rescue operations,” DHS spokeswoman Gillian Christensen told the Washington Free Beacon, without elaborating.

On March 18th, Cuban officials visited port facilities in the south and they toured an oil refinery in Alabama.

The Obama administration has a new policy of “engagement” with a “pro-Havana” tilt though Cuba has done nothing to warrant it. In fact, they’ve been far more brutal to opponents within their own country since the US-Cuba pact.

When the Cubans came in March, they were given public information briefings and presentations about Coast Guard operations in Mobile followed by a question and answer session on the Maritime Transportation Security Act. At the refinery, the Cubans were given a briefing and tour by the refinery’s security officer.

International drug traffickers are known to use Cuban waters and airspace to evade U.S. drug interdiction efforts.

“Cuba—with historic, deeply held KGB connections—continues to command an enormous intelligence capacity and network to spy on America,” said Rep. Mike Pompeo (R., Kan.), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

“Hosting Cuban government officials and delivering them to ‘tour’ American national security facilities—as well as critical infrastructure sites in the United States—proves that this administration naively believes that Cuba has changed,” Pompeo said. “It has not. And its espionage against the United States continues.”

‪Adm. Kurt W. Tidd, commander of the U.S. Southern Command, made no mention of the Border Guard-Coast Guard program during a Wednesday meeting with reporters at the Pentagon.

Tidd said a Cuban military medical team toured the Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort during a port visit to Haiti in September. In January, Southcom co-hosted a Caribbean Nations Security Conference with 18 nations represented, including Cuba for the first time.

“The island of Cuba sits directly astride principal north-south trading routes. Those trading routes also happen to be smuggling routes and Cuba has concerns about illicit trafficking,” Tidd said.

“The Cuban intelligence services (CuIS) are known to actively target the U.S. academic world for the purposes of recruiting agents, in order to both obtain useful information and conduct influence activities,” the Sept. 2, 2014 report says.
