The Center for Immigration Studies posted an interactive map of known sanctuary towns and cities on their website and is one of the few organizations keeping track of them.
Although federal regulations plainly require cooperation, the federal government has never sued nor sanctioned a sanctuary jurisdiction, nor denied federal funds. In fact, the Obama administration has made it difficult for the states and localities which choose to aid in enforcing immigration laws, in some cases going so far as to sue to have such assistance prohibited. Arizona is a prime example.
These areas have become bastions of some very far-left activism and anti-Americanism. They are also becoming hubs for Heroin in many cases.
The National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers (NAFBPO) has warned of the Sanctuary City threat to national security and public safety since their formation in 2006.
They are gratified to see that there is some coverage, which they believe just scratches the surface.
Any Political Subdivision of the United States that does not have a written and enforced policy of referring any and all aliens (not necessarily undocumented aliens) to proper authorities, encourages alien criminals to seek refuge in their jurisdictions, they said in a formal statement.
It is a most obvious result of Sanctuary Cities and logically leads to problems like those of Dallas/Ft. Worth which has been designated as a Cartel Hub, the wrote further.
The Zetas refer to it as a “command center.”
Cocaine and Heroin are grown and produced outside of the United States and smuggled into the United States by aliens. Most of the Heroin in the U.S. is Mexican Brown. It’s cheap and plentiful. Mexican illegals are also big into building portable Meth labs.
In D.C., most Heroin is sole by illegal El Salvadorian gangs.
Zak Taylor, Chairman and Border Security Expert, said more research on sanctuary cities needs to be conducted:
Then when we heard the Mayor of New York City on television preaching the ill effects of 32 ounce sodas and french fries while not mentioning that at the same time that one milligram of Heroin was selling for one U.S. dollar on the streets of New York (a historically low price) we had to wonder if the food issue was designed to deflect attention from the heroin problem.
Therefore, it would be interesting to trace the rise in drug use against falling drug prices in cities that have sanctuary leanings.
Under the Barack Obama administration, the number of non-citizens Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sought to deport but did not due to the ruling of a judge, requests from the government or the use of prosecutorial discretion have increased 42 percent.
In New York, 500,000 legal IDs have been made available for illegal aliens and in California, 500,000 illegal aliens applied for driver’s licenses when they were first issued in April. Anyone who says there are 11 million illegal aliens in this country is misguided. Of that number, we now know that nearly half-a-million criminals have been released onto our streets and into our neighborhoods.
The government releases an average of 30,000 to 35,000 criminal aliens each year into the interior. Sanctuary cities have become a sanctuary for criminals and they make each state shielding them from the law into border states.
The National Immigration Law Center attempted to list the hundreds of cities and states that have enacted sanctuary laws despite the fact that 69% of the American people do not approve of them and despite the law – the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. Harboring illegal aliens, especially criminals, is against the law.
Not everyone who comes across our borders illegally is a landscaper or restaurant worker. As one law enforcement official said, they’re mowing lawns during the day and selling Heroin at night.
Meanwhile, The Establishment in both parties appear to like it this way for the cheap labor or the Democratic votes.
It comes at a tremendous human cost.
