Socialism Is Great: Venezuela’s New Interior Minister Is a Drug Trafficker

General Nestor Reverol, a former minister under Hugo Chavez was named Interior Minister.

On Monday a court in Brooklyn, New York indicted him for drug trafficking from 2008 to 2010 Reverol and another cabinet minister hindered US investigations into drug trafficking while taking bribes from the traffickers themselves.

That’s no big deal, we have a money launderer as president [Obama’s $400 million ransom] and a candidate who has a money laundering foundation.

Maduro told the public that Reverol broke the “world record for capturing traffickers.” Reverol was, ironically, in charge of the anti-trafficking unit along with a number of other top officials who were indicted in New York on Monday.

At the same time, Maduor fired his VP for the economy and industry – he was a reformer – can’t have that!

The corrupt and collapsing regime won’t accept humanitarian aid and oil prices remain low. The Socialist solutions or hiring criminals and controlling everything aren’t working – shocker!

Venezuela is, at this point, a humanitarian crisis. Food shortages, rolling blackouts, hospitals in chaos, and economic ruin have plagued the country since 2014 and things are only getting worse as the regime refuses aid and the price of oil, the country’s main export, remains at record lows.

Instead of reforming, Maduro is moving towards the hard line.

Venezuela’s cash could run out in less than a year. The country’s central bank only has $11.9 billion in reserves, down sharply from $30 billion in 2011. A few large debt payments are coming due soon. Starting in October, Venezuela owes a total of $4.7 billion in a series of payments.

“Within a year they’re going to run out of money,” says Russ Dallen, an expert on Venezuela’s debt and managing partner at Caracas Capital, an investing firm in Miami. Dallen pointed out that the country has been almost “suicidal” in its focus on making debt payments.

All experts agree they have less than a year. How better to make money than hire a drug trafficker?

Sterilizations are soaring because of the cost of having children and Maduro just enslaved the workers in his country by demanding they work as farm hands.

People are eating garbage and deepening shortages of virtually all basic products (from rice and milk to deodorant and condoms)and finding even one roll of toilet paper is nearly impossible.

What’s happening to the US is also tragic. Our crony capitalism, Socialist leaders, out of control regulatory regime, high taxation will lead us down the same path.
