The only American guiding the U.N. climate change agenda is a leftist tied to George Soros and the Open Society, a Socialist plan for a one world government.
John Podesta is a former Clinton Chief of Staff, an advisor to Hillary Clinton, and the former president and now Chair, Counselor and co-founder of the Center for American Progress (CAP), a leftist think tank funded by George Soros’ Open Society.
Podesta has been the leading force in transforming the United States into a regulation nation with agency paper pushers legislating from their desks.
He is one of the key architects of the Obama Administration’s climate and sustainable development policies. All of which is straight out of the Open Society playbook.
In May of 2014, Podesta boasted that Congress could not stop Obama and his climate change rules. “They may try,” he said, “but there are no takers at Pennsylvania Avenue.”
He served as the sole U.S. representative on the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Agenda.
In May 2015, he addressed the international ministers of the U.N. and said “2015 is a pivotal year…the General Assembly’s consideration of the Sustainable Development Goals are all streaming towards conclusion.”
He boasted of the president’s historic U.S.-China climate pact in which China basically said by 2030, they’ll think about it.
After he served on Ban-Ki-Moon’s Orwellian-sounding High Panel, a report was released that called for a commitment to end poverty within a framework of sustainability.
It made clear their goal was to set the stage to radically transform the world’s economic, environmental and social agenda with its kick-off campaign at a special U.N. summit of world leaders to be convened by Ban in New York City on September 25.
It will bind all 193 U.N. members to an amorphous, open-ended, “universal sustainable development agenda” for the planet that will take effect in 2020.
Obviously, Barack Obama will agree to it and it will cost the U.S. a great deal of money in one of the most massive redistribution schemes in our history. It will also undoubtedly cede some U.S. sovereignty to U.N. rulers.
They are pushing for global governance on climate change with elites picking other elites to serve on the panel that sets the rules.
“Developing a single, sustainable development agenda is critical,” says a report produced in May, 2013 by a 27-member “High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons” hand-picked by Ban to help focus the discussion and frame the effort required to make the huge and lengthy project a success.
The only American who worked on this was Podesta, a Soros colleague.
The plan is to end “extreme poverty, in all its forms”; their agenda is to bring “a new sense of global partnership into national and international politics”; and we must now bring about a “rapid shift to sustainable patterns of consumption and production”.
“The new global partnership should encourage everyone to alter their worldview, profoundly and dramatically,” their report says. It aligns with Pope Francis’ recently expressed political views in his encyclical.
The U.N. is going to be involved in every government, state and local.
“The Panel is convinced that national and local governments, businesses and individuals must transform the way they generate and consume energy, travel and transport goods, use water and grow food,”
They will also guide a social justice welfare state worldwide.
The panel noted “many countries are using public social protection programs and social and environmental regulations to bring down high levels of domestic inequality by improving the lives of the worst-off, while also transforming their economies.”
Private businesses must be dragged into this which isn’t a surprising demand from socialists. “We embrace the positive contribution to sustainable development that business must make,” the report says. “But this contribution must include a willingness, on the part of all large corporations as well as governments, to report on their social and environmental impact, in addition to releasing financial accounts.”
Companies that make over $100 million must “comply or explain”, the report demands.
It must lead to a “new era for multilateralism and international cooperation” led by the dictators and communists in the U.N.
In addition to all the U.S. government agencies, we will now have all the U.N. agencies telling us what to do.
