In the name of providing a safe environment for their customers, Starbucks is banning smoking within 25 feet of their cafés.
They apparently control that much public space in many areas. In places where they only control 15 feet, they will go by the laws.
I don’t smoke, don’t like to be around cigarette smoke, but I really dislike a private company outlawing smoking on public property.
Can wealthy private companies now control the public air space? Apparently they can.
