We Will Arm Syrian Rebels, Some Have Vowed to Destroy Us – Update

Update: 14:01: The New York Times is reporting that there will be little change in the type of aid. We will send small arms, ammunition, and possibly anti-tanks. Anti-aircraft weapons are allegedly off the table. There will be no troops on the ground.

President Obama is voting “present.” We have yet to hear from him directly. Yesterday he was at an LGBT event.

Original Story: The US is planning to arm the insurgents in Syria and will probably enforce a no-fly zone. The rebels we will arm are infiltrated with al Qaeda forces who have only recently left the battlefield in Afghanistan where they fought and killed our soldiers.

President Obama promised to act if the Syrians crossed the red line by using chemical weapons. It was confirmed by the French that chemical weapons were used on 150 Syrians. Obama has dragged his feet because the rebel forces we would now aid are indistinguishable from al Qaeda forces.

The President needed to act before al Qaeda filled the void over the last year-and-a-half if he wanted to avoid the situation we are now in, but he didn’t.

During an open mic episode last week, Bill Clinton was heard saying that if Obama did not act, he would look like a “fool” and a “wuss.” Of course, Clinton is interested in kicking off his wife’s campaign for president in 2016.

John McRINO is demanding a no-fly zone over Syria which will cost $50 million dollars a day.

In the end, the money might be spent to help people who will establish an Islamic Republic aimed at destroying us.

The Libyan war was our big “success.” Libya is now overrun by al Qaeda who use it as a base of operations. The puppet government we established is non-functioning for the most part.

On the other hand, 93,000 Syrians, half of them innocents, have died in the Syrian war. The war is straining both Israel’s and Jordan’s defense systems. Jordan is particularly vulnerable since they have a large population of Islamists and a generally weaker military than Israel.

Syrian refugees are pouring over the borders, placing additional strain on the two countries. The US has pledged to grant asylum to thousands of these refugees. Now that we have announced it, there is the danger that al Qaeda will infiltrate the refugee camps if they haven’t already.

Hezbollah is working hand-in-hand with Assad who has attempted to transfer his weapons, including chemical weapons, over to them. Israel has struck the supply routes and storage facilities three times to stop that from happening. If such a transfer were to take place, it would tip the balance of power in the region.

USA Today had a report that one Syrian rebel group pledged an oath to al Qaeda on behalf of Osama bin Laden.

This was no small faction. This was al Nusra. A pledge of allegiance by Syrian Jabhat al Nusra Front chief Abou Mohamad al-Joulani to al-Qaeda leader Sheik Ayman al-Zawahri was coupled with an announcement by the al-Qaeda affiliate in Iraq, the Islamic State of Iraq, that it would work with al Nusra as well.

A Salafist Sheik in Lebanon said al Qaeda has helped al Nusra for some time.

Al Nusra has had the most significant victories against Assad.

Syrians who want US help are claiming that they are willing to fight alongside anyone but they are still the average Syrian Citizen.

The al Qaeda rebels have said that when they defeat Assad, they will then attack the US.
