What Michelle Bachmann Did Wrong

The Muslim Brotherhood is not an innocent, peace-loving political group. The Brotherhood fathered every radical Islamic group in the world. Obama has catered to them as have many in our Congress, Democrats and Republicans alike.

The Brotherhood has members who have said they plan to infiltrate the United States government.

Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, is the wife of the now-disgraced Anthony Weiner, and she comes from a family intimately tied to the Brotherhood.

Michelle Bachmann, a Tea Party enthusiast who is facing a tight race because of redistricting, is a member of the Intelligence Committee in the House. In this role, she asked a question she was apparently not allowed to ask – she wanted to know if Huma had been vetted. Bachmann asked this question in private.

Senator McCain, a big RINO and friend to Huma, went public with Bachmann’s confidential request for information. Why he did it is anyone’s guess – dementia? Even McCain’s less-than-brilliant daughter got in on the act – on MSNBC of all places – and called Bachmann the poor man’s Palin – huh?

Bachmann never accused Huma of anything. She merely asked if she was vetted given her family’s close ties to the Brotherhood. Additionally, Huma received one mention but the Republicans have chosen to make it seem as if Bachmann’s question only concerned Huma. The focus of Bachmann’s letter was concerns about the possible infiltration of radical Islam in the highest levels of power.

The crazy left publications such as Soros’ Mother Jones called Bachmann an anti-Muslim crusading paranoic using McCain’s baseless tirade throughout their rant. Again Bachmann was falsely accused of attacking Huma.

Every left-leaning media outlet, particularly the Washington Post ran with it, attacking Bachmann and concluding that she jumped the shark. A gleeful Politico said that Republicans had their knives our for Bachmann, which appears to be true.

John Boehner, the disappointing House leader, added his voice to a chorus of chiding Republicans, condemning Bachmann for attacking Huma, something, as I said, she never did. Scott Brown and Marco Rubio signed up for the attacks.

They’re all Republicans! What’s wrong with them?

Bachmann said that she is not implying that Abedin is herself “a member of the Muslim Brotherhood or that she’s working on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Bachmann simply wants Abedin’s connections investigated, she said.

The courageous Bachmann said she will “not be silent as this administration appeases our enemies instead of telling the truth about the threats our country faces.”

Bachmann and four other Republican members of Congress sent letters questioning “the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical groups’ access to top Obama administration officials.” Bachmann said Wednesday that the letters “are unfortunately being distorted.”

The letter included the following –

“The Department’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin, has three family members – her late father, her mother and her brother – connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and /or organizations,” Bachmann wrote in the letter, which was sent to State Department Deputy Inspector General Harold Geisel, among others. “Her position affords her routine access to the Secretary and to policy making.”

Reps. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, Thomas Rooney, R-Fla., and Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga., joined Bachmann in signing the letters.

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., one of two Muslims currently serving in Congress, wrote to Bachmann on Wednesday afternoon asking to back up her claims.

Bachmann responded with a 16 page letter  including the following comments –

…quoting a 2002 law review article by the director of the Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations that says Abedin’s father “was the founder of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and institution that had the quiet but active support of the then-General Secretary of the Muslim World League, Dr. Umar Abdallah Nasif.”

The Muslim World League, Bachmann said, has a “longtime history of being closely aligned and partnering with the Muslim Brotherhood.” Pointing out that foreign influence of family members is considered when giving security clearances, Bachmann continued, “given the reasonable assumption that Ms. Abedin has a high-level security clearance… I am particularly interested in exactly how, given what we know from the international media about Ms. Abedin’s documented family connections with the extremist Muslim Brotherhood, she was able to avoid being disqualified for a security clearance.”

“She is the chief aide for the secretary of state, and we quoted from a document, and this has been well reported all across Arab media, that her father, her late father who’s now deceased, was a part of the Muslim Brotherhood,’ Bachmann told Beck. “Her brother was a part of the Muslim Brotherhood, and her mother was a part of what’s called the Muslim Sisterhood. It would be, we have requirements to get a high-level security clearance. One thing that the government looks at are your associations, and in particular your family associations.”

By Thursday, Bachmann, ever the stalwart, repeated her concerns on Glenn Beck’s radio show –

Salon.com, a left, left online paper, cackled about Marco Rubio saying he disagreed with Bachmann’s calls for an investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood. He said it was baseless.

Newt Gingrich and talk show hosts have come out in support of her right to ask questions. Ya think?

Glenn Beck said, “It is official government policy. Under the heading of ‘Potentially Disqualifying Conditions for a Security Clearance,’ contact with a foreign family member that could present a heightened risk of foreign exploitation,” is explicitly listed.

So, what did Bachmann do wrong? She bucked the establishment Republicans. I’ve seen them in action locally and they’re a tough horde of RINOS.

Bachmann has recently been threatened with being removed from her committee position but she is not backing down.

While the left tars and feathers their own in private, our misguided Republicans are engaged in pillorying in the public square, giving plenty of ammunition to the left for their organized campaign to unseat Bachmann this November.
